the show appears to be action packed and the covers makes you think there is an epic adventure and huge stakes and grand story telling. maybe an improvement over the first season. that is what i thought. after i watched most of it, and only one ep left for the show to end i can say say it is not as what i assumed or what the trailer led me to belive that. yes it has action. but it is not like s1. the adventure and action is less. the setting unlike in s1 is actually fixed. limitting the idea of having an adventure. what is this show all about is simply a main foucs on the main character and her life. the plot is a secondery since it is not all the foucse is there. we get to see her adventure throughout the city.

the main reason why i like this show is because of the main character. she is energetic and strong. she can lift a giant tree. she is always the more postive side of the characters. we get know her a little bit in each episode. we get some hints on her behavior. she is not just the genki archtype character you see in your average show. she has more sides to her character. she is not just one note. she care about everyone in her group. she loves someone. her romance has subtlity unlike other romance show. this show appears slow to people misguided by the marketing of the anime and trailers. you get more screen time and information about the characters and their motivation and some past than the previous season.while the first season gone through that. the second done the same yet had more characters. did any of the characters got significant development? no. but some got a little bit development, and most importantly fleshed out nicely. other reasosn why i like this show is the animation and character designs for tjis show as well the setting. it is fantasy which is most favorite type of stories. the show can be broke into many plots. there is nina's introduction, nina's love interest, azzazel's part with the show and the slaves in the city, the conflict between the king and gods and devils. there is also a plot about the angel's son and his fate. it all connected. if i can think of more reasons i will put them later

Anime Relations: One Piece
This manga has a lot of nudity, and ecchi. Often they are combined too. So if you dont like ecchi, i would advise you to avoid this manga.

This is an impression of the first 13 chapters of this manga, not a review. This is just for those who might consider reading it. Also this is spoiler free overview. Don't read the description on mal page, it is just the premise or the plot of the first chapters. This manga has no premise. Even though it is not written there, this manga is a slice of life of the main female lead.

The overview:

First of all dont like slice of life in general. but this one caught my eyes. Is it because of the "plot" ? wink wink.

First chapter:
I loved it from the first page. liked the first chapter as well. the first chapter has blame vibes in it. like there is little to no dialogue in the first chapter. The first chapter is dependent on visual story telling more than daialoug, but dont expect that to happen a lot in later chapters. It is just dont happen a lot, but when it happens in some of the pages, it is satisfying. I enjoy these quite/silent pages.

The art:
The art! Is it good? Yes. Is it as good as berserk and vagabond? Heck no. I would say it is above average. the reason why i gave it an 8, is because i liked the visual flow in it. whether it is a visual storytelling or fighting scenes. You feel the tension in those few, yet good action scenes. There is few times that the author drew nice backgrounds.

The script:

you know when Aot had the monsters attack the walls and people ? and then the manga switched to boring stuff like training and what not. Well in stravaganza it is the opposite, it has a bit of build up a long with irrlevent stuff and some slice of life moments. i enjoyed those to be honest. then at chapter 8 the plot kicks in. i really liked this approach a lot. Sadly i cant say it wasnt random. like the manga switched fr slice of life to ecchi to comedy to tragedy to actual plot. what the fuck is going on. hopefully the plot will settle down later on.

Sometimes the manga goes without any dialogue for some or many pages. i like the art. so far no plot, i hope there is and not just comedy. the main lead is a girl. i liked the action scenes too. There is also giants. you can say there is no plot or objective in this manga. while being episodic. Each episode is connected with eachother. So while there is no goal or anything. the plot is continuous. There few adventures here and there as well. If i want to describe this manga better, i would say ; it is like if a girl made a diary about her life in her fantasy world this would be the result. a slice of life of the main lead. Ya know like if something big happened, it will be written. i feel there will be some arcs that have actual important story. The best thing about this manga is that there is no stupidity from it. and often it gave me this feeling "oh wow they didnt use that stupid cliché, well that was breath of fresh air". This manga is quite unique to me. so much in it i liked, yet no plot. i appreciated some things in it too. this is nothing of big deal but sometimes the manga in some chapters does this small details, subtle things that i really appreciate. Compared to other manga and anime. Really good stuff. The world building in this manga so far is really nice. there is giants and other locations and other people. Fascinating world that let you sink in. It reminds me of one piece a little bit. It is certainly above average. If there is a character development and better plot , i will give it better ratings.

The Characters:
The Characters! are they good? eh, i wouldn't say. So far no character development or fleshing out that much. Still i like the cast. i didnt find any one to be annoying. I like the relationship between the main character and other characters. They are dynamic and engaging.

Overall:
Sometimes i get one piece vibes from it, slice of life chapters, action chapters, and adventure chapters. It is like pretty much of everything. That explains the genres this manga has. I can safely say this manga is all over the place and i dont mind it. Read the first 4 chapters of this manga. If you didnt enjoy those, you might as well drop the manga.

TL;DR: random plot+random pace+ecchi= this manga.
yet i love it!

Anime Relations: Bloody Date
one intersting thing about Dorohedoro, it has many themes, but not a main/central theme.
i think the reason, a good one too, is because most main characters are fleshed out AND different from each other, in a way they have different opinions and view and perspective it cant help that this manga have complex plot confusing if one doesn't pay attention.

another interesting things is the amount of plot twists in this manga is a lot!, though what it is more interesting is it doesn't feel like asspull or bullshit, except one or two times, but compare to the amount of good plot twists, i forgive it.

the manga is so bizzare like jojo , even more, and and not really grounded, and world is fantasy, not so much realisim there . i think what kept it all together is consistency

i found two three flaws in the manga.

while the stakes are ok, it is not strong as it should be due to the fact it is established that anyone can be ressurected or get repaired by a pet in the manga, for the antagonists. the emotional investment when one of these antagonists dies is lost, due to that fact they can be ressurected one way or another using thier pet. i can say this method was used about 6 in all 154 chapters. but since it was established fairy early one it doesn't feel like big flaw.

second flaw i found is the amount of info dump the two or so chapters in the latest chapters.during reading this manga i felt like i was being in the dark, or being blind seeking answers to the questions i seek, while getting slow information and some hits here and there. then eventually, i got a doze of information in the latest chapters. it wasnt annoying info dump at all and i liked it, but nonetheless it is infodumb.

third flaw which i really didnt find bad at all and didnt realize it, is how the plot is slowly progressed and how it feels like it is a drag on sometimes. i would say that it is due to the fact that many first chapters and in the middle are slice of life of the world of dorohedoro the subplots are entertaining so it was not bad for me.

the most interesting part of this manga is everyone is a human. no one is purely evil or purely good. everyone have bad side and good side. it is not evil vs evil, or good vs good, or evil vs good. also the comedy is very good!, i love it it!.
the light hearted moment that happen also is good. it is really funny when something so dark is funny sometimes in the manga. i like all the characters in this manga. so different.
to be honest i never liked so many antagonists this much
not even berserk or gunnm can top it in how many i like from the antagonists
it feel like every character has its own share of screen time
and it is fun too
sometimes when i read a manga i get less interested or less enjoyment in some of the scenes because i really am not interested in those characters.

i am interested in some of the characters
but not here
i am having fun in all chapters.
i like the relationship between the protagonists, the lizard and the girl.
the manga is about guy trying to look about other magic user that made him look like lizard. the manga is gritty and dark, and the art style also reflect that. there is also lighthearted moment too, and comedic scenes. the manga is slowly building its overreaching story. once you begin to like it, you never stop. right now i read about 36 chapters. the manga is ending soon.
