Anime Relations: Nazo no Kanojo X
Just finished this show.

To put it bluntly, I'm done with the whole half-assed conclusion/open ending in anime to make you buy the anime.

For once, the MC wasn't completely oblivious to his love interests feelings, and even in situations where he was made uncomfortable/embarrassed he mostly committed to the situation and would see it through, instead of just responding with the trite "NAN DEMO NAI" and changing the subject as is done so fucking often.

I liked this show a lot, I thought Urabe was great and was intriguing. The premise of the show was neat and there wasn't a stupid build up of 90% of the one-season series where the main characters work toward being a couple.

I think what annoys me the most about romance anime with open endings/no conclusions, besides being forced to read/buy the manga, is that 99% of the time, the end result is going to be the same. MC and his/her love interest eventually get married and there's some wedding scene after the manga was published for like 12 years and that's it.

It's totally unoriginal and retarded, yet I still find myself getting irritated that the only way to see this is to buy the manga because a second season is pretty much never made.

It's sad that I can count the number of anime that Ive watched that actually have a satisfying ending on one hand.

I made a mistake getting hooked on shoujo/romance anime and watching all the good ones first, because I'm now in a loop of constant disappointment.

The first few I watched were Toradora, Golden Time, Lovely Complex, etc. All of these had fantastic endings and left me feeling satisfied with the show as a whole. Since then I've been on a streak of shitty romance shows that bait you into buying the manga with a half-assed ending and 10 episodes of the male MC saying his love interest name and blushing because he can't believe she has feelings for him.

Fuck, it all just makes me so mad. I can't wait to get over this genre so I can't start plowing through the rest of my list.
