If i have more readers maybe that will push me to write more. This story will be long as crap so please bear with me.

File 1: The destined girl

It is dawn of a new day, of a new age, the age of the Nuhhaeh clan. The sun rises slowly over a bustling town, people move out of their homes and head to work. There was one more person up at this early hour, but work is something he was far from heading to do.

“Hee-hee, I always wanted to try this at least once,” Daniel Harouki said as he shook a can of whip cream in his hand. He slowly pulled the hand of a sleeping person in the bed in front of him and sprayed it in their hand. “Ok…one…two…three!” he quickly rubbed her nose with a feather.

Splat.

“DANIEL!!” She screamed as she tried to get the whip cream off her face. “Sorry Jenny-nee! But I wanted to see if it really works!” Daniel said as he tore out of the house at break neck speed.

“WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, YOU’RE DEAD!”

He heard his older sister, Jennifer Harouki, scream as he ran toward the town square. “Haha, I got revenge for yesterday. Who knew that damned warm water trick actually works…” he thought as he remembered the embarrassing result.

“Hic…hic…ooo…hic…”

“Huh?” Daniel turned down to look into an alley. A small girl was sitting there crying softly to herself. Her clothes were torn and covered in dirt and there were purple blotches on her arms. “Ahh…she looks badly hurt…” Daniel thought as he walked towards her. “Hey, are you all right?” Daniel asked her. The girl looked up and tried to walk away but fell over. Daniel caught the sight of bloodstains on her pants.

She remained where she fell with tears flowing from her eyes and her body shaking in pain. “Hey! Hey! Are you okay?” Daniel ran over and propped the girl up but she wouldn’t hold still and was trying to push him away. “Hey, calm down! I’m trying to help you! Ah…she’s out cold…” He said as she suddenly went limp.

“Wow…she’s hurt really bad, but she barely cried at all…” Daniel said as he pressed some ice on her bruises. He carried her out of the alley and placed her under a tree in the park and went and got some things from his house, avoiding Jennifer’s menacing eyes that were keeping a look out for him.

When he returned to the park, he found the girl again, still out cold. “This girl is really different from Sora, when she gets a little scrape she’d cry all night.”

“Mmm…”

“Hmm?” He looked down at her and she seemed to be waking up, He backed off about 2 meters so she wouldn’t be too shocked. When she woke up, she looked around for a bit and sat up, the ice pack sliding off her head. She then saw Daniel and their eyes met. She looked at her bandaged arms and legs and back to Daniel, as if asking if he did it and Daniel merely answered with a nod.

“Kxudb Oei…” she said bowing her head slightly before turning away.

“Huh? What kinda of language was that?” Daniel thought, as he stood up and walked over to her. He held out his hand to her and smiled. She looked at it uneasily and then at his face. She then slowly reached her own hand forward and grabbed it. Daniel pulled her to her feet and dragged her over to the swing set.

“Sit down here hold and hold on to this,” Daniel said as he sat her down on the swing and closed her small hands around the chain. “And…here…we...go!”

“AH!”

She let out a small gasp as he pushed her along the swing as well as jumped on the swing to go with the flow. “Ah…Ah…” she was nervous at how high the swing was going but after a minute she her fear became enjoyment and she began to laugh with Daniel as they went higher and higher.

Daniel didn’t find the language barrier a problem, as he was able to use his body language and expressions to communicate with her, and she seemed to understand fairly well and did the same thing for him.

The two of them played until it was dark and Daniel had to go. “Sorry, I have to go now,” Daniel said as he got off the seesaw they were playing on. The girl looked up at him and followed his movement with her eyes before she got off and ran up to him and grabbed onto his shirt. He stopped when he felt her hand on him and turned around to look at her.

The streetlights were turning on now and he could see her sad face being reflected in the light. “D-don’t worry…I’ll come back tomorrow,” he tired saying but she didn’t seem to understand as she continued to look at him.

“Um…um…you…me…here…tomorrow?” Daniel said it as he pointed at her, then at himself, then the ground and then traced the path of the moon. He felt like an idiot for doing the last thing but he didn’t know what else to do. She released her grip on his shirt, took a few steps back, turned and ran away. “I hope she wasn’t too sad…” Daniel said as he headed home.

“I’m back,” he said as he talked through the door to his home. He barely took a single step inside before finding a bucket of something over his head. “Wha! What the heck is this stuff? It’s all sticky!” His fingers were stuck to his hair as he tried to pull the bucket off and he heard someone roaring with laughter.

He managed to pull the bucket off high enough to see Jennifer leaning on the couch for support. “Haha…that’s a nice look on you, Daniel!” She laughed as she clutched her sides and fell to her knees in laughter. Daniel’s younger sister, Sora, walked up to him and pulled some of the sticky stuff off of him. She looked at it and then licked it off her fingers.

“Onii-chan tastes like honey,” she said as she pulled some more off of him.

“Honey…You dumped HONEY on me?”

Jennifer was about to say something back but someone appeared behind her. Their mother, Maria Harouki, was standing there, looking extremely tired. “Jennifer, you’re eleven years old already,” she began as she walked over to Daniel and wiped some of the honey off his face with a wet cloth. “You should stop with these childish pranks, and the same goes to you Daniel. Now get into the tub and wash yourself off.”

“Hmm…” Daniel sighed, as he scrubbed his hair as hard as he could to try and get the honey out of his hair. “That girl, I wonder if she’s okay. Those marks were all over her arms and legs…” He sank deep into the tub and blew a few bubbles in thought. “I guess I’ll check that alley again in the morning and then head to the park.”

The next morning he woke up with bloodshot eyes. “Ugh…I spent the entire night worrying about it,” He mumbled as he found his way to the kitchen.

“Oh, good morning Daniel,” a voice called out to him as he entered. Daniel rubbed his eyes and glanced over at the table.

“Oh! Otou-san!” he greeted his father, Tom Harouki, before sitting down on the table. “Its rare to see you still home.”

“You complaining?” Tom asked ruffling Daniel’s hair as he sat down.

“Not really, just saying,” Daniel replied laying his head on the table. He stared at the blade his father was polishing in his hand. He had always admired the sword but his father would not let him nor anyone else even touch it. The blade of the sword was made of Orihalcum, a black mineral that is said to be the hardest mineral in the world, the guard and hilt being made of black silver making the sword very valuable and very sturdy.

“Hey, don’t fall asleep at the table after you just woke up,” Maria said setting down a stack of toast in front of him as well as a jar of black jam. “Hmm? Black berry jam?” Daniel asked looking up, staring at the small jar.

“Of course, it’s a good pick me up, seeing as you look so tired right now,” Maria said, applying a large amount onto a piece of toast and handing it to Daniel who grabbed it with his mouth. “Really now, take something like a civilized human being…”

Daniel at his breakfast quietly staring at his father’s sword every now and then stood up. “I’m gonna be playing outside again today,” he told his mother as he began to put his shoes on.

“Ok, just be back before it gets dark, unlike yesterday,” Maria replied placing Daniel’s finished plates into the sink. He nodded and ran out the door.

“Right, first I need to check that alley way again…I think it was somewhere near the town square,” Daniel thought as he headed toward that direction. He peered into every alley as he retraced his steps but he couldn’t find her anywhere. He decided to go back to the park, as that was probably the only other place where he might find her.

When he arrived he saw her sitting under the tree that he placed her under when he was bandaging her up. Her clothes weren’t torn this time and she was wearing a pink sweater with a blue skirt and a blue ribbon in her white hair. He called out to her and she turned her head in his direction. She quickly scrambled to her feet and up to him and clung onto his chest. He could feel her shaking and hear her fast breathing as if she was crying.

“Wow, I wonder if she was worried that I wouldn’t come again…” Daniel thought, as he patted her on her back until she calmed down and stepped back a bit, looking side ways at the ground. He placed his hand on her shoulder and smiled as he grabbed her hand with his free hand and pulled her away from the park.

About half an hour later they were walking deep in the center of the forest surrounding the city. The girl was clinging onto the back of Daniel’s shirt, her eyes darting back and forth and flinching every time one of them stepped on a twig. “Haha, you don’t need to be so scared, I know where I’m going,” Daniel said, even though he didn’t expect her to understand, but she seemed to calm down slightly since Daniel was laughing.

They finally made it to a small clearing where a small river was flowing from a cave. Daniel pointed about going in and the girl immediately shook her head, wildly and tried to pull him away from the cave. Daniel smiled and pulled her in despite her protesting look and eyes.

She had her eyes closed the entire time they explored the cave and Daniel had to lead the way, giving a small laugh every time she bumped into him when he stopped or when she was walking to fast. Finally, he eventually came to a complete stop and she ran into him again. She rubbed her face for the tenth time but refused to open her eyes. Daniel sighed and placed his hands on her face and pushed her eyelids up, but she was resisting with all her might, even digging her fingernails into his arm.

When he finally forced her eyes open, he turned her head toward what he wanted to show her, and she covered her mouth in surprise. The light coming from the entrance illuminated tiny crystals on the cave walls so that the walls looked like the starry night sky. Multiple colors ranging from red to blue lined the walls all the way to the ceiling and the water bobbed up from the pond, which may have been connected, to an underground spring.

The girl walked around the cave, staying on the pieces of land that surrounded the edge of the pond, admiring the wondrous sight. “This place is my secret place that I go to when I’m feeling miserable,” Daniel said as he dipped his hand in the water and cupped them together and flung his hands up causing the water to be thrown up as well and the droplets shined in the light.

“Wah…” The girl laughed and dipped her hands in the water and tried to do the same thing. However, she threw too much water and it splashed onto Daniel, drenching him.

“Hey!” Daniel shouted spitting the water out of his mouth as she laughed at him. “Oh yeah?”

He waded across the pond towards her and gave a large kick that sent water flying at her as well. She slipped and fell on her butt with her clothes as wet as Daniel’s. “Ha!” Daniel said as he crossed his arms and smiled in triumph. He watched as she puffed her cheeks up and stood up and gave him a push. She put too much force in it and slipped again and they both lost their balance and fell into the water.

“Uh…are you okay?” Daniel asked. He was lying flat on his back, his head just barely poking out of the water. The girl had fallen on top of him and her face was flat on his chest. He felt his heart rate speed up as their eyes met.

She gasped and her face became beet red. “Jehho,” she whispered, as she looked away.

“Is she apologizing?” Daniel thought as he sat up, sliding her off as well.

“A…a kxadb…a…a cebo oei…” she was whispering again as he helped her to her feet.

Daniel had a completely blank look on his face as she was speaking. He shook his head to clear it and grabbed her hand and led her back into town. On the way back she kept on repeating, “Cebo” over and over.

They ended back at the park and she gave him a small hug before walking away. “What was that for?” He wondered as he headed back home himself.

When he arrived he found it empty except for his dad digging around in the fridge. “I’m home,” he called as his dad looked up.

“Oh, welcome back…why are you soaked?” His dad asked.

“I fell into a pond when I was playing,” Daniel replied walking into his room to change. When he came back out, his father was watching the television while drinking some coffee.

“Where are Mom, Sora and Jen?” Daniel asked, sitting down next to his father. “Hmm? Oh, your mother took them to a concert or something,” Tom replied sipping more of his coffee.

“So did Mom leave us anything to eat?” Daniel asked rubbing his stomach.

 “Nope.”

“Great…”

“Don’t worry, I ordered Take-Out a bit before you got home.”

“That’s a relief.”

They continued watching the movie when Daniel remembered something. “Hey Otou-san, do you know what ‘Cedo’ means cuz…” but he couldn’t finish as his father did a spit take with his coffee and started coughing. “Are you okay?” Daniel asked quickly thumping his father on the back.

“Y-yeah, where did you…or rather who did you hear that word from?” Tom asked, rubbing his throat.

“Hmm? My new friend just kept on saying it to me,” Daniel replied eyeing his father curiously.

“I see…” Tom had a troubled look on his face.

“What’s wrong?” Daniel asked leaning closer to his father’s face.

“Huh, ah, its nothing…” Tom said quickly wiping his face muttering, “Geez this stuff’s hot…” Daniel continued staring at his father, who seemed to avoid eye contact with Daniel for the rest of the night.

The next morning, Daniel headed back to the park and the girl was there again. The two of them decided to go walking around the town and explore the many different shops that were in located around there.

“I think we picked a bad time to check out the town,” Daniel thought. All the shops were closed and there wasn’t a single adult in the streets, it was almost like a ghost town, except for the huge amount of noise coming from the city hall. “Man, all the adults meeting in one place, I wonder what happened.”

Daniel felt something brush his hand and looked down to see her hand centimeters away from it.  She noticed his gaze and pulled her hand away immediately, her face turning a deep red. Daniel smiled and grabbed her hand instead and started pulling her down the street.

When they crossed a clothing store, she came to an abrupt halt and stared into the window display. Daniel stopped and took a look himself. She was staring at a small, white hat with a pink ribbon tied around it. Daniel took a look at the price tag displayed underneath it. It read 3000 yen.

“Ah…that is a little expensive,” Daniel muttered as the girl looked adoringly at the hat. “I guess no matter where they come from all girls like this sort of thing…” He sighed as he let go of her hand and continued walking. She looked towards him and the hat back and forth a few times before she ran and caught up with Daniel.

They continued to walk around, entering any shops and stores that were still open, sometimes getting free samples when they entered a snack shop. Eventually they went back to the park to play and eat their snacks. Daniel continually tried to communicate with her, asking things like if the food was good, or if she was having fun. Whether or not she got the gist of it, however, he wasn’t too sure.

It wasn’t long before the sun began to set and one by one the other children’s parents came to pick them up and the park became deserted besides the two of them. Daniel glanced up at the crimson black sky as the girl’s face came in and out of view. His head rested on the wet grass with his feet pointing toward the playground set while she on the swings.

Daniel hoisted himself up with his arm as he saw someone walking past the entrance to the park. Tom Harouki was walking towards them, hands in his coat pockets, staring straight down at the ground. He did not seem to know where he was going and was deep in thought. Tom then headed into the park and sat down on a bench and threw his head back with a huge sigh.

“Otou-san?” Daniel asked as he ran over to Tom who jumped slightly and looked over at his son.

“Daniel? You’re still out this late?” He asked as he stood up and hugged his son as he came over.

“That’s because her parents aren’t here yet.” Daniel pointed over to the girl.

Tom’s eyes traced the direction Daniel pointed to. When he saw the girl his eyes widened. His entire body seemed to have frozen in place. Daniel tiled his head and waved his hand in front off his father’s face. “Oi~ Otou-san?” Daniel called clapping his hands in front of his face, which brought Tom back to his senses.

“Sorry,” he apologized before standing up straight again. He then looked at his son with a very serious face. “How long have you been playing with her?” He asked.

“Um…this is the third day,” Daniel replied, tilting his head to the side in confusion.

“Is that so…”

Tom’s face became very serious and his expression was dark. Daniel became worried and looked at the girl again, but nothing was going on except that she seemed to be picking all the flowers out of the small garden.

“Hey…Otou-san…is something wrong with her? You have a scary expression on your face,” Daniel said softly.

“Huh? N-no, I was just thinking of something…else.” Tom replied his expression lighting up a bit. “I’m glad you were finally able to make a friend…” Tom ruffled his son’s hair but didn’t take his eyes off of the child.

Daniel pulled himself away from his dad and turned to look at the girl again, who was doing something with the flowers she pulled out. She seemed to have finished as she stood up and ran towards him.

“Veh oei” she said as she smiled and showed Daniel what was in her hands, a headband made of the flowers she pulled up. “Sud A fik ak ed oei?”

Daniel had no idea what she said and simply stared at the flower band. Tom gave a small cough and said, “She wants to put it on you.”

Daniel raised an eyebrow but lowered his head and sure enough, she put the flower band on his head. As she clapped her hands and giggled, Daniel gave his dad a bewildered look. But his dad said nothing but tap the girl on the shoulder. She turned to him and he began talking to her, in the same language she was using. As the two of them exchanged words, Daniel was left there surprised and a little left out.

When they stopped talking, Tom took the girl’s hand and turned toward the exit of the park. “I’ll take her home now, you head home before your mom gets worried,” he said as he started walking toward the exit.

“Hey wait! How did you know what she was saying?” Daniel asked running in front of them.

Tom merely smiled and replied, “That’s my secret, but if you want, I’ll teach it to you, someday.” With that he gave a small tug on the girl’s arm and the two walked away, the girl turning around, giving Daniel one last wave before the two disappeared in the darkness.

Daniel kept on staring at the darkness as if taking in the entirety of that scene before. He felt his heart beat painfully and grabbed his chest. “What the…why is my chest hurting? Its as if…I’ll never see them again…Ha…yeah right, what a joke.” Daniel turned toward the direction of his house and ran home laughing at his trouble.

The next morning, Daniel was rummaging through his room, pulling out multiple boxes, rolled up socks, and drawers. He pulled out the loose change and bills that he had hidden in every corner of his room to prevent his sisters from taking any. “Whew, I have just enough money to get it,” he said wiping the sweat off his face. “I wonder what she’ll think when she sees it?”

Daniel gathered all of the money he had and put it into a plastic bag and bolted out of the house, the coins clinking around loudly in the bag. As he entered the store, it was as empty as it was yesterday, and the store clerk was busy checking the inventory in the back storeroom. Daniel’s head just barely peeked over the counter as he called out, “Excuse me! I wanna by that hat in the window!” The store clerk came out from the storeroom with the hat that Daniel wanted and Daniel paid for it in full.

When he exited the store he was clutching a box with the hat in it and an empty bag. “Ouch…all my money gone…but it’s gonna be worth it!” With that he ran towards the park, expecting her to already be there.

However the park was completely deserted. No one was in the sandbox, or the slide, or the swings. “Maybe I just got here early,” Daniel thought as he sat down under “their” tree. He waited and waited, but there was no one coming, not even the usual faces that come everyday. Lunch had come and gone and it was getting dark when Daniel finally stood up.

“Maybe she’s just busy…I’ll try again tomorrow, maybe…” Daniel said and he carried the box back home.

But back home wasn’t a good place to be either. He could hear crying as soon as he entered the house. He went into the kitchen where he saw his mom with her head in her arms. “Okaa-san, what’s wrong?” he asked and Maria looked up at him.

“Oh, Daniel…your father…he’s gonna be away from home for awhile…he’s going on business with his boss,” She explained.

“So? What’s wrong with that?” Daniel asked.

Maria kneeled down next to her son and wrapped her arms around him. “He is not allowed to come back to the town…we may never see him again…”

Maria began to cry as Daniel became as stiff as a mannequin. He recalled the feeling he had last night, and thinking harder, he thought about the girl’s expression when she waved goodbye. It was not one that meant, “See you tomorrow.” It was one that meant “Farewell.”

Daniel tore out of his mother’s grasp and clutched his present and ran out the door. He didn’t go into the city; he went the other way, into the woods, running with tears in his eyes. He didn’t care that he was barefoot and ignored the pain of stepping on the rocks and broken branches. He ran until he was in his cave. The sparkling minerals and the calmness of the water didn’t appeal to him this time.

Daniel kicked at the water and screamed out in fury as he threw the box at the wall of the cave. “He knew he was leaving! But he still said he was going to teach me! AHHHH! Why did I even go and buy that stupid hat for! Why?” Daniel stopped screaming as tears flowed down his face. He curled into a ball at the cave wall and just continued sobbing in silence.

December 9th, 2007

Well the anime i've seen this week by this point in time were EF ~a tale of memories~, Myself;Yourself, Higurashi no naku koro ni Kai, Clannad, Genshiken 2, and Kimi-kiss.

Out of all of those, i think Myself;Yourself was the poorest episode. There has been a increase/confirmation for the incest between Shuu and Shuuri and i was pretty damn disgusted that they pulled a School Days (worst h-game to anime anime ever IMO) and had black blood. Fish bleed red, Humans bleed ink. Man i was not expecting Asami's blood to be black when they made fish blood to be red. Makes me wonder what the insane granny is gonna get locked up for? But no she can pleed insanity and get help in a mental hospital.

Next would be Kimi-kiss. I'm not sure why, but the flair the anime had at the first 5 episodes seem to drop. Maybe because i completely expected Mao to end up with Koiichi but they seem to like other people, or at least Koiichi is. Perhaps its because it seems that they are going to end up together because Mao did not say my boyfriend but a classmate when she introudced Kai to them. Perhaps shes not ready, or maybe she likes Koiichi more? Who knows, but i'm going to keep watching for a bit longer.

Next is Ef. Well after Chihiro had calmed down about the whole I lost 4 years things, something she must have been doing every day of her life recently, she seemed to has lost all her cutenest flair after that. but she seems to still like Renji despte nailing him in the head with her diary. (He bled red yay!! See Myslef yourself comment above) But i was a little disappointed to see that she then immidiately tried to fall in love with him again. Shaft did this a bit too quickly imo, but its nice although renji seems to be finally cracking under strain. I wonder if he could hold out until Chihiro's novel will be completed. Right now i just hope Shaft doesn't pull a, whats that term, duex ex machina or something? and have her regain her ability to remember past 13 hrs after she kisses him or completes her novel. As for the other couple/s that love square is getting a little bit boring...but i say Hirono got her into bed WAAAAAY to quickly...

Next is genshiken. I was sympathetic to Sasahara's fruitless attempts to acquire a job atthose manga publicaiton offices. Hes very honest with the interviewers and they blam him for it. I wanted him to slug them with his chair, but hes not that kind of character. Its also nice they are moving on with the SasaxOugi thing, although it was very disturbing that Kuchi mentioned it...his face gets more and more annnoying each time i see it. Although i was surprised that they made him say that he wanted to go on a trip when in the manga Sasa's little sister was the one who wanted to go. I wonder if shes even gonna make another show in the anime...well 4 episodes left and the next one enters Ono's American friends. Ugh the older one looks ugly as hell, and she seems to be hitting on Madarame lol...

Second place unforutnately goes to Clannad with Higurashi at the top. The reason for this is that despite being so funny, Higurashi pulled a GAR momen. but i'll talk about Clannad in this post. Nice to see we are getting an deeper introduction of Kotomi's character. We know her parents are professors at some bigtime college and that everyone knows who she is but doesnt. At least i mean they know her name but not her face. It was also interesting to see Kyou trying to set Ryou up with Tomoya. Too bad he chose the Drama club instead of a cafe or Karoke of a movie like Kyou had in mind. The highlight of the episode would probably be at the end where Kotomi tried to play the violin. Everybody, even me, thought she was gonna be good. And boy were we horribly wrong. i even turned up my volume so i could hear some beautiful music...it felt like i was listening to the Kanon 2006 dubb...well that wasnt too bad anyway...

And lastly at the top would be Higurashi. The awesome GAR moment that Akasaka played at the end was simply incredible. He kicked those Yanibu or w/e asses like they were nothing. And those guys were supposed to be some kind of professionals while Akasaka was just a regular cop. It was also awesome to see Shion carrying a freakin gun. And confirmation of Mion x Kei-chan and that Satoshi is sill alive at the clinc is good for everybody. With the episode counter winding down to a close, its time to see everybody kick Takano's bitchy ass all the way back to Tokyo.

Thank you for listening to my rantings, please take these few comics as a token of my appreciation.
