Anime Relations: Meitantei Conan, Baccano!, Overlord
Dang! It's been a while since I made an update post. It's been a long time since I started watching anime, and I've certainly watched quite a few different series since then. I'm still watching a heckton of Detective Conan, but I'm still so far away from actually catching up. A couple of posts back I mentioned DC had 761 episodes aired. Well...now it has 1,001. I haven't even reached episode 761 yet, but I'm very close! Ahh, I was so happy when I reached the Butterfly Core OP. I used to be a Valshe stan, so it was very nostalgic to hear~

Right, so, among my recently watched shows, honorable mentions go to...

(...ugh...this is going to be difficult because I accidentally left such a large gap since my last post...)

Okay. I had to put some thought into this, but recently I finally got around to watching Baccano! and I really enjoyed it. It was hard to know what was going on at first, but it really tied up beautifully at the end. I also LOVED the OP video sequence + music. It was so fun and quirky and really fit the overall mood of the show. I would definitely recommend this series to any who haven't seen it.

Next in honorable mentions would have to go to Overlord. It wasn't perfect across all seasons, but its premise was fun and I really do hope they get a fourth season. Also the OPs and EDs were amazing! I started the series not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised in the end. The weird lizardmen subplot in the second season may have seemed out of place for some, I'm sure, but I had a good chuckle at what seemed to be a parody of the shounen genre through the character of Zaryusu.

Welp, I guess that's all for now. I'm not sure when I'll post again. All I can say is I really hope I'm caught up with DC by then. ^^;

I haven't been watching much anime lately because of college, but I'm still trying to catch up with Detective Conan. I was getting bored of it for a while, but it got a little interesting again plot-wise, so I'm keeping up. The weird thing about watching that series is that each case is very well-written and so each episode is very fascinating to watch, but the plot does not progress at all. Ever. I mean, it does, a little bit, sometimes, but 50 episodes can go by without any reference to the plot whatsoever, and it's weird. I still find myself enjoying this series despite this, though, and I always look forward to the Kaito Kid cameos. Hopefully I'll be well into the series by the time I reach my 80 days mark. To be honest, I don't really know why I even make each 10-day increment of anime-watching significant at all. I guess it just always surprises me to look at how much of my life I've spent on anime.

I'll also probably we watching the third Detective Conan movie soon, so we'll see how that goes. (I'm honestly just looking forward to the Kaito Kid cameo, haha.)

I'm finally up to 60 days of my life spent on anime. Wow. No thanks to my binging. Because of my binging habit, I used to avoid watching airing series, but I've begun to watch more and more series as they air rather than watching them all at once. This is mostly because of college. Having a lot of work to do really cuts my free time into unpredictable bits, unfortunately.

Anyway, I started watching Detective Conan. As of now, that series has 761 aired episodes. Why am I doing this to myself? I don't know. But I've liked Magic Kaito enough so far to start an insanely long and childish series. I guess I'll see where this goes. Eventually I'll catch up. I hope.

I've continued to watch older series of anime, and have finally finished Death Note, and some others. I noticed that I kept started new anime and never finishing them, so I made a point to finish all the unfinished ones on my list as of late. I'm currently finishing Cardcaptor Sakura (also because I eventually want to watch the Tsubasa Chronicles...my love for Kajiura Yuki is a motivation here) and it's not terrible, actually. When I think "magical girl" genre, I normally think cheesy friendship series, but this is at least somewhat enjoyable.

But anyway, I don't have much more as far as ramblings go, so I'll just sit over here and finish episode 50 of Cardcaptor Sakura. =w=

I've started watching more airing series than older series lately, and I'm not regretting it. A series that has seriously caught my eye this season is Psycho-pass. It is supposedly based off of Ghost in the Shell, which I have not watched, but I might do so in the future. This is probably the first time I have watched 13 episodes of the same series in one day. Something to be said for its suspense. It doesn't grab with annoying cliff-hangers, but rather likeable characters and intense plot. I love the art, too. (The character designs were supposedly done by the same artist who did KHR)
At first, I was against watching too many airing series at once due to the fact that I am the type who would lose sleep over the suspense for a next episode, but I actually find the suspense somewhat exhilarating.

Finally, finally, finally, I have watch 30 days worth of anime. I'm progressing faster than I would have thought, although it seems I still need to watch more classics, as I tend to keep up with the current airing seasons more often than watching old favorites or recommendations.
Current all-time favorite anime: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
