Spring 2013 predictions
Anime Relations: Katanagatari, Photokano
Seeing as how this is just a prediction, I will not claim anything to be excellent right from the start. However, this is how I will imagine how the season will turn out like. If you wish to skip my meaningless dialogue you can look at the picture below for results.
Otona Joshi no Anime Time: I have yet to watch the anime for this that came out in 2011, yet feedback for it was rather positive. Reiko Yoshida seems to have a hit or mix writing per each show. I'll consider this as a might be good for now.
Date A Live: I realized I had no idea who AIC Studio + was, so I checked out their anime track record. Asobi ni Iku yo! and Nekogami Yaoyorozu screams red alert for me. Keitarou Motonaga also has a less then stellar director record too. Not suspecting this to be good at all.
RDG: Red Data Girl: P.A. works is either hit or miss with me, and I'm expecting the same here. Toshiya Shinohara as the director leads me to predict that this will be a miss.
Gundam Seed Destiny: HD remake is a no dice for me. I also would not want to start watching a main Gundam series with Destiny. Definitely a skip for me.
Girls und Panzer: I have no information for this at the moment, and would rather this to be a maybe then a miss. I will watch episode 1-10 before hand though.
Karneval: Having Eiji Suganuma as the director is another red alert for me. Add that with Touka Machida for script writing and what do you get? Trash.
Danchi Tomoo: This will probably not be getting subtitles so I highly doubt I would be able to watch it if I want to.
Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live: I have yet to watch S1 for this, but I really do not want to also. I will skip this also.
Boku wa Ousama: Another anime I doubt will be getting subtitles. I will have to skip this also.
Tetsujin 28-gou Gao: Surprisingly I am not able to find any information about this on MAL. The 1960's version of this show is really outdated, and if that's any indicator for this show (it's not and it shouldn't be but for the sake of no info), it might be bad as well.
That one Shounen Jump Collaboration: No thank you.
Train Heroes: I highly doubt this will be airing this season, or made at all. I might watch this if it does exist but I'm not expecting much.
Devil Survivor 2: First off I had checked Bridge anime series and see that they haven't really made much. Mitsudomoe is really different from Devil Survior 2, so it's hard to tell from that. The director Seiji Kishi makes me think that the anime might be bad, considering what his drama works are. Persona 4 was not a very good adaptation of the game, but Jinrui was a well done anime. Makoto Uezu as series composition (which I have not done my research but I believe is the same thing as script writing) also has a mix bag for script writing. I'm going have to lean on it will turn out to be bad, but maybe it is a much easier game to adapt. Then again Devil Survivor 2 plot has not received the same hype as Persona 4's did either. I'll go with a prediction of 5/10.
Ginga Kikoutai: Majestic Prince: This anime is being made by studio Dogakobo which also does not have a good track record. Although this is a different type of anime then what they have produced before, so I do not think we should count that. That's when I saw Keitarou Motonaga as the direct for this anime. In case you do not remember, he was also working on Date A Live this season too. I highly doubt this will do well either if this is the case. Reiko Yoshida working on two anime is also giving me false hope for Otoma. Why are these two individuals working on two projects at once? Couldn't the anime industry hire anybody else?
Yuyushiki: This is one of the harder anime to dechiper if it's going to be good or bad. The description sounds rather generic and will probably become one of the five minute episode anime we've been getting recently. Kinema Citrus also has not produced any anime like this before hand. I will doubt this to be good overall though.
Oreimo S2: I will have to watch S1 to decipher what I think about this anime.
Shingeki no Kyojin: This is an anime I wish to turn out to be done well, but the director for this show gives me some doubts. I do not believe we will be able to have the amazing animation we saw in the preview throughout each 13 episodes. It will cost too much money that they cannot afford. I'm going to give this a might be good, but that is just wishful thinking.
Kakumeiki Valvrave: If I recall correctly, this is the anime that will feature CGI animation. CGI usually does not work, and with mecha's I highly doubt it will give a well balance result. Having Kou Matsuo for the director is not a good sign either. Another anime I doubt will be good either.
