CLANNAD - The Anime That Changed My Life
Anime Relations: Clannad, Clannad: Mou Hitotsu no Sekai, Tomoyo-hen, Clannad: After Story, Clannad: After Story - Mou Hitotsu no Sekai, Kyou-hen
It might seem silly to some that a single anime can change someone for the better. But in this case, it certainly has. Following the ups and downs of Tomoya Okazaki from his high school right up to marrying his sweetheart is a tear-jerking delight.
At first, it started as a lighthearted high school anime about the daily life of Okazaki and his friends. The first season had its sad moments, but it still belonged to the Slice-of-Life and Comedy genre. And who can forget the first scene, changing from black and white to colour as he sees his sweetheart, Nagisa Furukawa, for the first time! It was beautiful! Then there were other characters - a pair of twins, the comic relief, the popular junior - I won’t go into details.. But they all added an extra something to the anime. The first season ended with Tomoya proposing to Nagisa.
The second and final season started with them still together, which was obvious of course! It started very much like the first season until they graduated from high school and Tomoya finally married Nagisa and looked for a job. It was so simple, yet at the same time, it was beautiful.
The rest of the anime took me to a trip - a trip to see what life is all about… All in all, my favourite anime of all time and one of the very best of the past decade.
