my history with anime

Started watching my first ever anime - Pokemon on Aug 2nd after having obsessed over Pokemon Go with my friend, who later told me about the show. I instantly became hooked. It was like my new goal to watch all 19 pokemon seasons. And so i watched and watched every day from morning to night. I finished those seasons in about 5 months. This was also the first time i was forced to watch anime subbed, because i couldn't wait to finish XYZ and let me tell you ... it sounded weird and like gibberish to me, but I pulled through because of my love for Pokemon.

In March I watched the first season of Digimon, because i heard from my brother that he had watched it in his childhood and so i gave it a shot. I liked it, but couldn't get into the other seasons.
In April I rediscovered Dan and Phil, who immediately became my favourite youtubers.
At the end of May I found Dan's video on his anime recommendations, which piqued my interest and I found myself more curious about anime. I'd say Sword Art Online was my first real anime, because it represents the start of me watching this medium on a daily basis. All of the shows i watched were still in dub (where possible), but I started to switch to sub in August and after that almost never watched in dub ever again. I simply fell in love with the language.
On Aug 16th I joined MAL after ending up on this site many times looking for synopses. Before that I just noted down every anime in a Word file, which is why I have all the starting/finishing dates for the shows I watched before joining in my list.

In March I rerated my entire anime list, because I had way too many 10s and 9s. I also started to use the forum feature and socialise with others.
When MAL went down on May 28th, I joined AniList and quite quickly fell in love with it and its community. I still use both MAL and AL, though the latter more.
Became a reviewer for AWC on Nov 7th (AL).
First year of watching seasonals!!
