Okay, I'll confess: when I first heard the title, I cringed. Then, I avoided the anime like it was stationed in the middle of the New York sewer system.
Fast-forward a horrendous amount of time. I unwittingly find the anime under just "Kenichi", and not realizing which one it is, I decide to watch it.
I would like to take this moment to pause and say, "Whoo-hoo!"
Okay. I'm better. Seriously, though, for a light-hearted anime, it's surprisingly accurate. I've been watching five episodes a day now for the last week - it's a 50 episode series, ya see... - and I'm loving it. I rated it at an '8' to start, and it hasn't shown any signs of being demoted.
Of course, this means that my manga reading and other anime watching - you know, like the other ten or so titles on my Watching list - are getting neglected. I glare at that list at least twice a day, willing it to dwindle down.
No joy.
On an unrelated-to-Kenichi-but-related-to-anime-note: Kenomonzume sucks. Period. The end. Give it a '1' and walk away. Don't waste the bandwidth.
