Anime Relations: Princess Tutu, Monmusu Quest!
So you guys might say that I'm a lunatic for calling a fairy tale, muh magical grill deconstruction similar to a gag porn game, and whatever you want to said to me, but let's hear my opinions first shall we?

So what I'm talking about with the "similarities" is more of the character roles, pacing, and the narration. Sure the story has a totally different settings (although fairy tale and hero RPG story both have medieval esque? Princess Tutu presentation is western while Monster Girl Quest is chuu2 however ) so let's begin because I don't want to make this long, spoilers do exists here:

1. Luka and Ahiru
You probably see this coming since both are the protagonist of their respective series. They're both starts off naive and an ordinary person, that's the first similarities that you should've known right after I mentioned both names. Luka, was chosen by Ilias in a quest to slay the Monster Lord in order to restore peace. Drosselmeyer created Ahiru the Princess Tutu in order to restore Myuutho and defeat the crow. Both develops later as they know the twists behind their "assigned task" and what they must loss due to that.

2. Alice and Clair/Fakir
Yes, Alice is more like two of these characters merged into one entity called Alice. All of them are misunderstood. Alice, as a Monster Lord herself, was seen by the humans as evil tyrant who destroys Remina. Clair and Fakir was also misunderstood for a villain at first for being cruel to Ahiru. Alice serves as the final boss of the second installment while Clair serves as the "final boss" of the first half. Not to mention that even at the second half of Princess Tutu, Fakir is rather tsundere to Ahiru just like Alice is rather tsundere to Luka. They also play the main role to defeat the true main villain(s), along with Ahiru. This might be the most different comparison of them that looks similar tbh.

3. Pacing and Narration
Princess Tutu and Monster Girl Quest both uses "Monster of the Week" type of pacing. In Princess Tutu, there's some problematic scene in each episode which Ahiru solves and in exchange, she got more piece for Myuutho's heart. Monster Girl Quest is self explanatory as you keep fighting all the monster girl and taming their "lust" and in exchange, you get EXP points. However, during the second half of Princess Tutu and Third installment of MGQ, the twists are revealed and is actually, have some foreshadowings on it (Drosselmeyer's creepy narration, Ilias "judgement tap", the doll who sells gems appearance, Promestein brief appearance, etc). Both are kind of normal-slow paced due to this "Monster of the Week" formula, even after the twists, both series still uses "Monster of the Week" formula until the end, and that leads the revealment to some characters which also have similar roles which is...

4. Black Alice and The Crow
Okay so this is simple. Both looks beastly, is the "villain" role but not the "Big Bad" as there's an entity that's above them, and both is the hardest to defeat and requires so much struggle for it (I think I lost about 9 times to this bakemono called Black Alice). Also Black Alice is Alice ancestors while The Crow is Clair's "parents".

5. Drosselmeyer and Ilias
They appeared since the beginning. They're the Big Bad and all the reasons why this tragic story has to happen. They "directs" what happens on the story (Ilias on Remina and being sucked to Black Alice in order to be the ultimate being, and Drosselmeyer's "plot manipulation"). Both are defeated the last by the efforts of everyone. Luka and Ahiru in the end have to defeat the one who give them their task and after that, Luka live happily together with Alice as well as Ahiru with Fakir.

So that's basically the similarities between both story, I'm quite lazy today to write more but maybe you can just figure out more of it (e.g side characters maybe Mikhaela and Fakir's parent, the unfortumate Lamia and the cat sensei, etc). I personally enjoy Monster Girl Quest more because femdom is my biggest fetish, but I can't say that I don't enjoy Princess Tutu either. Sure both uses the most boring narrative progression which is MotW but MGQ redeems it with reverse rape sex scenes while Tutu redeems it with beautiful classical music pieces.
