Wrapping up the current season Winter 2016
Anime Relations:
Durarara!!x2 Ketsu, Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen, Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Dimension W, Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo Returns 2nd Season, Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows
Well, the season is wrapping up and I have a couple of shows to finish but here are most of them.
Dimension W
I think this could have worked better if it had been a two cour show (any maybe a slightly better director). There just wasn't a lot character development. Then near the end they introduce a bunch of characters that don't really matter. And the ones that do feel like they needed to fleshed out a bit more. Over all it was still pretty good and the end was decent.
Durarara!!x2 Ketsu
I really like Durarara I did feel the last couple of seasons were running of steam. Still good, just not at good as before. Overall I enjoyed it and it had a pretty satisfying ending so I am happy I watched it all.
Erased
Probably the best (maybe the second, have to see how Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju holds up) show this season. It was a fun thriller romp that I really enjoyed. The ending did feel rushed though and on one hand it is weirdly satisfying, yet not? I was going to give this show a 9 but I knocked it down to a 8. But an 8 is still a really good score from me. It is not perfect by any means but I give it high marks for having really good tension through most of the show. Which a lot of shows in general can't do.
Probably the best (maybe the second, have to see how Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju holds up) show this season. It was a fun thriller romp that I really enjoyed. The ending did feel rushed though and on one hand it is werild satisfying
File of Young Kindaichi Returns 2nd Season
This is a teenage detective show. I got what I wanted from a teenage detective show. Also, while it finished up the last case it doesn't really end. I am going to guess it will come back next year for another season. Though, man I really wish they would get rid of the main character's mullet. I know the manga started in the early 90s but they managed to update everything else as time has gone on. The goofy mullet is really distracting now.
She and Her Cat: Everything Flows
A short anime series based on a short anime... This was actually pretty sweet and maybe just the right length. And does an impressive amount of character building in it's short run time. This also had a really satisfying ending (though also sad). A great little character piece. I would recommend to anyone really but if you like cats this is a totally touching piece.
Utawarerumono: The False Faces
How did I watch two cours of this show? It was kind of awful. It started out well enough then devolved into silly high jinks for more that one third of it. The the ending tries to get super serious. Even worst everyone was like watch the original so I did, which is very much a superior show, and thus made watching this worse. Then this shows ending...OMFG! The worst ending this season. It just really rubbed salt into the wound that is this show.
