Anime Relations: Cardfight!! Vanguard, Cardfight!! Vanguard: Asia Circuit-hen
A day after the "Demonic Lord Invasion" booster set was released, the card shop that I frequently visit hosted another tournament. I was surprised to learn that DLI cards would be legal to use, considering that it's only been a day since the set was put on sale (internationally). Before the tournament started, I bought some more individual cards in the shop, which are the following:

RR:

3 Top Idol, Flores
2 Dusk Illusionist, Robert
2 Crimson Beast Tamer
2 Archbird
1 March Rabbit of Nightmareland

RRR:

3 Goddess of the Half Moon, Tsukuyomi
2 Goddess of the Full Moon Tsukuomi
1 Swordsman of the Explosive Flames, Palamedes

Excluding some of those cards, I mainly purchased them to remodify my Oracle Think Tank deck and create a "Tsukuyomi" deck, the same deck that Misaki uses in the anime series, and a Pale Moon deck a la Asaka from the show. I used the former in the tournament. Knowing that I was going into this tournament using an untested deck, I was expecting to get knocked out early. So, my mindset when I entered was to think of my following matches as experiments on how my Tsukuyomi deck should be played. After all, there will be other tournaments, so it wouldn't be a big deal if I went 0-2 in this tournament. With proper expectations, I bravely entered this 10-man tournament with a deck that I made in a 5-minute time span.

My first opponent was a Gold Paladin user. Unlike some other Gold Paladin users that I previously saw in past tournaments, this opponent relied on "Great Silver Wolf, Garmore" as his vanguard instead of "Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel". Since this was my first match using a deck that I was not completely familiar with, I lost 0-2.

While waiting for my next opponent to be announced, I created and finished my Pale Moon deck. I was then challenged to a casual game by the Nova Grappler user who I beat in the last tournament, but he was using a Dark Irregulars deck for this tournament. Unfortunately, this cardfight went horrible for me as I got some bad draws and was unable to do anything. Needless to say that I lost.

My next official opponent in the tournament was a different Nova Grappler user who had "Reckless Express" (from the Spike Brothers clan) splashed in his deck for some reason. Unlike the last match I had against the Gold Paladin user, things actually went swimmingly for me. I managed to get the Tsukuyomi engine working properly and, with some unluckiness on my opponent's part, I won 2-0. This was a huge confidence boost for me since, as stated earlier, I was expecting to get knocked out early.

My final opponent of the day was another Nova Grappler user, but this guy was not only a first-timer to tournaments, but he also was not playing with card sleeves, which is considered blasphemy in competitive children's card games. But no one, including myself, called the guy out on it, being the nice guys we are. And just like the previous match, things went well for me and I won 2-0.

The tournament ended with my record being 2-1, which I was more than happy with getting, all things considered. I was awarded with 2 free booster packs of DLI. I was expecting to get only R cards, but much to my surprise, the two packs contained...

1 RR Mirror Demon
1 RRR Goddess of the Full Moon, Tsukuyomi

As ecstatic as I was with getting another "Full Moon", it was a bit of a face-palm moment since I now have 5 copies of "Full Moon", and I'm only allowed to have 4 copies of a card in a deck. But the card artwork of "Full Moon" is so beautiful that I'm fine with having an extra copy. Or I could just trade it. We'll see what happens.

That's it for now. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and enjoy the rest of your summer!
