It finally happened...
So I woke up this morning wanting to get on my computer. Strangely, this time it did not start. It had been making strange noises in the past so I have been blowing it out with some compressed air. I tried cleaning it out again this morning. Still no go.
I then noticed that the orange light on my router which is usually always on was not on, so I checked the back of my PC to find that lights were not flashing there either. I'm pretty sure my motherboard has died. Just in time too. I've been meaning to get off my ass and go buy the parts for my new PC that I was planning to build. At least now I don't have to plan. I'll probably head out Friday to buy everything and build it on the same day.
Deciding to go fully high end. Going to cost a bit but its all worth it. I'm a bit peeved off though. I just noticed that USB 3.0 has come out and is being released on a few Gigabyte/Asus motherboards. Too bad most of them suck. Such bad timing if you think about it. I guess I'll just miss out on a USB 3.0 motherboard, though I'm guessing drivers/patches of some sort will be released to make everything compatible with USB 3.0. Obviously there will be a bottleneck though. If not, then I don't really mind spending an extra 300-500 bucks for a new motherboard providing its actually good.
Anyway, that's about it for my rambling on. I think I'll just do some cleaning for the rest of the day.

nah, its finished lol. I just took out the parts that worked. Asus is good. My new PC has a Asus motherboard P6T. Works very nicely. USB 3.0 is much faster. o-o

Does your old computer still works?As for Asus motherboard, I disagree with you here, I have my old computer built with Asus motherboard 6.5 years ago, and it's doing great since then. What's the motehrboard you used for your new PC? No USB 3.0!, that sucks :( |
