Mecha-ddicted
I've recently started watching a bunch of mecha anime's... my current addiction. I blame Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for being ridiculously awesome. I know Neon Genesis Evangelion is rather old, but I'd never seen it so I'm watching that as well.
Toying with the idea of starting Escaflowne, and Bakuretsu Tenshi (Burst Angel) xD
I refuse though to watch any Gundam! I was probably tainted by the english tv show version but oh well.

Pretty much what Leuconoe said. There are some good gundam, I definitely think you'd like the gundam seed.Eureka seven is very good and critically acclaimed. You'll probably like evangelion, it's very unique. :) |

Large robots, gotta love 'em.Evangelion is pretty much required watching, as far as I can tell. I'd encourage you to watch Escaflowne, which is pretty good (or at least I think so) and unusual as it's shoujo, and the mecha combat is almost entirely hand-to-hand. I don't know about the movie though, I haven't seen that. As something of a Gundam-fan-in-the-making, I'd recommend some Gundam (though some bits are pretty dire), but if you're dead set against it then I won't press the point. Eureka Seven is worth seeing too, in my opinion. |
