originally rated 3 but that's because i didn't know how otome animes work. Because they're games and you're supposed to have more control of the path you want to play yeahhhhh and the mc is stupid in the anime which is annoying...
So i ranked it higher but still low because the story relatively sucks in this form.

Did I fall for the characters? Absolutely.
The manga is so vividly implanted in my head it feels like I already watched it. I'm so excited for season 2. This is one of those animes that gets better as the plot moves forwards and all those little disappointing moments are set ups for new moments in the future. I want to see more of my favorite characters though.

This was done really well and I find it sentimental. Some kids need adults in their lives who aren't their family, to treat them with respect and love them in a non romantic way. And that is what he did. If it changes in the sequel (if there is one) that won't change how he helped her as a teen, nor will it corrupt why he did it.

Probably not worth a rewatch but it was really good on it's own. I liked the story and the back story.

It showed Nami as treasure hungry which i'm still waiting on a reason for
Zoro showed so much integrity in this I love how he's being developed
Luffy is just cool in his pride and determination. I love how simple he frames all of his actions.
And the back story they used to frame this movie could have been an entire anime on its own that i would have watched and enjoyed.

This was extremely enjoyable. It was simple, there isn't really a depth to why yet or deep themes or political games. Key word yet. I really love the theme and the queerness I like all the girls and Alan as love interests. I like that they didn't go any love routes. It was a little too - everyone is obsessed with her - but that's the genre. I didn't like the idea that people are born with light magic like it seems more like a magic style that you would have to work to achieve.
It was nice that they didn't just forever ignore her former life too.
The ending conflict was a bit eh but it was sweet I guess
overall it was a wonderful show

62 Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta... X

63 Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu
What do we expect to see? Men clearly created this world and it's their idea of what a world would look like if women were in charge and the world was designed for women and a dude from our world Isekai-ed his way in?

I'm not okay with how they shaped that because it's not accurate? unless you paradox it and realize the otome in the first place was a world designed by men to shape what they think women want then that checks out and hurts my brain.

Okay i like it anyways though because it doesn't take itself too seriously and it's self aware about most of it's flaws.

I just didn't like it. It felt illogical and pessimistic which is realistic in a way that i don't like. It was about a war between humans vs vampires with a french ending. felt very... extreme. there was potential in the lore and the story for something interesting

But the depths both vampires and humans would go to whenever someone tried to cross mingle in a positive way was just, off putting? like you're going to take a whole army across the world to get someone back who chose to go run off with the opposite species? You're going to kill the vampire bride to a human on their wedding day? that's so much energy and sure it's realistic probably but it's kind of just stupid too.

85 Yagate Kimi ni Naru
Spoiler heavy direct reaction content below

Although it wasn't ultra exciting or full of big extreme moments to hook you in there was something very realistic about how queerness was portrayed in this anime that I liked.

Yuu is struggling with either being aromantic or biromantic and she vocally works through this coming of age struggle as a frieshman in high school in a way that's realistically not resolved

She feels distinctly separate from her two friends who talk about boys and how they have crushes and it was framed in a very relatable way for viewers who may have ever struggled with any form of aro asexual feelings.

Maki is our aro example set for Yuu to not feel alone and also see that her experiences aren't exactly the same as someone who distinctly knows that they never want something like that for themselves. Because she does want it even if she doesn't feel it.

The depth of Touku's characterization was what really made the story complex. This on the surface perfect girl struggles on the inside with her identity. She doesn't love herself and therefore can't cope with the idea of anyone loving her so she latches onto the first girl who she meets who can not feel love.

None of this is framed in a "maybe you'll change your mind when you're older sweetie" place it's all messy and unclear and frankly something realistic in questioning queer identities. Not all of us know and many of us who like multiple genders struggle deeply to figure out what we want.

There's even a space to see adults in a queer relationship where one of them is distinctly bisexual in a way that is both affirmed and not erased.

And a momentum of a father making a flippant comment that he wouldn't want a gay daughter.

Finally there's Sayaka - a lesbian who knows who she is and remains who she is even after falling for and being dismissed by a girl in middle school who said being gay was a phase for both of them that they needed to grow out of. She faced her queerness and was shamed for it so she latches onto a girl who she know can not return her feelings and despite being similar to Touku vs Yuu, she doesn't seek to want more from Touku because of her trauma and her respect for Touku's needs from her directly. She knows Touku has a deeper side to her that she doesn't want people to see and she fills the role of someone who supports her in hiding it.

But in her own personal way Sayaka has a lot she's going through and a lot that she is denying herself. It's how she's working through her own queerness while she is still young and messy and living in a society that will challenge her.

When I first came out my aunt told me that the queer world wasn't as mystic as I thought. Everyone didn't get a happy ever after - even adults. The queer world was full of pain and distance and sometimes there would be reasons for people to stay apart even if they loved each other. Her favorite movie is called Saving Face (2004) and this Anime reminded me of my aunt's vision and the realistic challenges that happen when coming of age as a queer person.

It's so difficult to find wlw content in western media that isn't hypersexual or just down right traumatic.

I liked that this anime addressed dreaming of love and societal realism in the same breath without drenching the story in trauma or sex. It's okay for us to have normal nice cute sweet love stories that don't drag into intensity. Or maybe that's my demisexual side talking.

Either way, I wouldn't want to watch this again but I like what it was for what it was.
