Ep 1 - this is NOT going to end well. I can see what happens.

Just a lot of fun to watch with an interesting premise.

I don't know. They seem to be very "advanced" for their age. However, it's nice that we have another (rare) show focusing on what happens after a couple hook up :)
I only watched the raws of ep 10, 11 and 12. I didn't understand much of 10, but I understood almost everything in 11 and most of 12.

Though there have been several episodes I thought were just 'so-so', ep 11 was the first ep in both seasons I actually disliked. Episode 12 was good, however. Overall, though it kind of dragged for a while, it did well I thought, and ended well.

Mostly harmless show about four or so high school friends doing nothing in particular (no plot to speak of) except being very good friends. Often very amusing. The one sour point is the pathetic male nurse whom I would seriously be concerned about being around under aged girls.

Good addition to the series.

VERY good, actual content, shorts (2 to 3 minutes). Some are very funny.

It started so well. Then came episode 5...

I was talked into picking it back up, and it seems to get better.

Ga. Another very hard to rate series. Much of it was good, some of it very good. But, some of it was, well, bad. But, it turned out very well in the end.

As a continuation of the first season it was fine, there were some good episodes, and some not so good episodes. Sometimes the supporting characters were hard to take, and sometimes they did well. All in all, another hard show to rate. I give it a 6 because it is different than most and overall does well at doing what it set out to do.

It's a bit of a rough ride, and I don't think this show is described well in terms of what it really is. There are a lot of serious, sometimes painful issues covered. Once I accepted that this was not going to be a happy ride it turned out really well.

Cute Girls Doing Cute Things. Unfortunately, the episodes were so short I never really got a feel for the characters.

Action, Adventure, Romance...done well. Not your typical "Shoujo" style story. Kind of cool, actually. It's a little cheesy, but not so much as to be a bother. A good comparision is to Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii.

Episode 1 - eh. to much "touchy feely" between the guys. Well, I suppose I'm not the target audience for this episode :)

Episode 2 and 3 - that was a good coverage of the backstory.

Sana, I also feel frazzled most of the time. Hopefully you'll learn to grow with it.

After episode 11, in response to somebody talking about the arc with "absolute order girl" (Hatori) not seeming to have much of a point, I said:

"Maybe it was a roundabout way to get there, but I think it tied together in that conversation between Sana and Hatori (the 'absolute order' girl). Hatori is on the verge of wishing she had never existed, while Sana has been struggling to find a justification of her own existence. Sana realizes they are in similar positions but moving in opposite directions, and I think she'll be able to use that to help them both. 'Wonderland' may be parallel, as the block balls and the 'frazzled' feelings Sana gets imply to me that Wonderland itself is possibly about to split into two directions, in reaction to the emotions Sana has developed and experienced.

Or, this story could resolve itself in a way that has absolutely nothing to do that"

well... it seems to have done the later. I enjoyed the show, and I know a lot of people are praising it, but what I saw was a story reaching for not actually grasping something greater.

The first episode ends on a note that seems like way to fast progress. Delay judgement until the second episode - it wasn't as it seemed, and it worked out better than I thought it would. The show really played to its strength, which was the relationship between father and daughter, with Kotori being a strong supporting character.

Up to around ep 7 I was having trouble really getting into it, but for whatever reason starting with ep 8 my interest level has improved. I can't really put my finger on why. Maybe it was just a matter that it was talking so long to develop the characters in what is really a character driven story.

Strong theme regarding regret, self-worth and self-determination. I'll admit it gets a point from me because it hit a nerve.
(later edit, after watching the "Hell's Kitchen" special) After a few years I had a reason to rethink about this show, and I realized much of the impact was due to timing - I happened to watch it just at the ...wrong... time regarding certain things going on in my own life, so my opinion with the story probably fed off of that. But, upon reflection I realized that, while much of the story was very good, many of the individual story threads/plot points and events really weren't all that good, or just plain dumb.

A little silly, but still Yuri's reaction to Kanade's non-reaction was great.
First episode was okay - second episode was kind of stupid.

Amusing. Story focuses on an uncommon "Real Life" topic.

It's interesting to compare this to the actual issues occurring as I watched this for the show "Girls und Panzer", which apparently had just these sort of problems and stumbled over meeting deadlines.

Overall I enjoyed it, but ep 8 annoyed me.
And then the game of "tag" kind of ruined it for me. I liked how the last episode *ended*, but I thought that the tag game, and associated events, was ridiculously stupid.

Hard to rate this one. I can't say it was fun to watch, bottom line Menma was being held there by their issues regarding her and her death. It was sad, but in the end they all, including Menma, got closure, something not everybody gets in real life.

Interesting...sure, it's a well worn story line, but the characters are good, the pacing is excellent, and there are enough twists to make it different. Oh, and near the end Kanna does something awesome. The very last episode was a little out of sync with the rest of the show, however.

Fun somewhat fun to watch, and I really am curious about how it is going to turn out.

Overall I thought the series was fine, but I didn't care for the last two episodes - just far to many things to nit-pick at.

If you liked the series you should like this, and in fact I thought the execution better than most of the series episodes. I STRONGLY recommend not watching this until after you watch the series, as it does give away a few things that may detract from your enjoyment of the series proper.

Overall very enjoyable. A lot of good action, some introspective drama, and a good cast of interesting characters. In the end, I think my favorite character was Mephisto Pheles. I like Rin Okumura, but Mephisto's character is very complex and intriguing.

(as of ep 5) To much use of flashbacks to the same events in ep 16/17 of season 1, and no real transition to the the fact that season 2 basically ignores episodes 18-25 of season 2. I understand those episodes deviated completely from the source, but there should have been some way to help viewers reset their expectations. Also, the angst Rin's 'friends' are showing him has been overdone and shouldn't take 6 (or more) episodes to resolve...

Ep 6 was, however, very interesting.

Ep 11 - things get much better from ep 6. And ep 12 was a great final to the season.

I liked the first episode a lot.

The second episode, not so much.

It wasn't so good at first, but (as of ep 4) it seems to be keeping the "nonsense" to a reasonable level and the characters are getting interesting.

(as of ep 8) - (setting aside the question the realism of the physics involved) I don't see the "issue" with the Birdcage thing. It's a competitive sport, and you do what you need to do to win, within the rules. That said, the *attitude* of people like Irina is why I never have and never will care for competitive sports. To me, there will always be a difference between aggressive competition and condescending intimidation.

End: the final episode in particular was...disappointing.

I was really intrigued by the idea of the anti-grav shoes and the game, and I found I liked the interaction between the two main characters Misaki and Asuka. There could have been more, and there were hints about how Mashiro could have developed, but it lost its way in over the top forced drama and increasingly fanciful departures from reality.

(I guess the fact that I'm typing so much here is a reflection of my disappointment)

Gets a +1 because it is very well done. Anime ends part way through the source material so don't expect 'closure' with this story here.

This surprised me. Setting aside the action (which was well done, even if a little over the top sometimes), the story, while limited in scope, was much deeper than I anticipated. In short, it's a fairly good take on the old question of what happens when artificial intelligence starts to become "self-aware"...

to much repeated content, and what was new didn't have the best transition/continuity/development. Still, it was fun to watch and interesting.

One of those "concept" films where you have to fill in a lot of the details yourself to figure out what is going on.

It's okay, just not all that exciting for an action show and not all that interesting for a romance show.

Wait. Suddenly with episode 8 it gets very interesting.

In the end, it failed to follow through.

A story line so laid back it's horizontal. It's a little to unlikely, and maybe a little two sweet, but the characters can be entertaining, though it features the cats to much for its own good. Episodes vary from the weak (8) to the sadly poignant but heart warming (4). Very strong on character development. The second season gets much better.

It wasn't bad, but it had to many flashbacks and not much about Ai and the other two apprentices. I guess I was expecting something different.

This can be really, really good, even if it is not really about much of anything. In the end, probably the best way to describe it is "mysterious, gentle and pretty". President Aria serves an important role as a sort of protective charm for the spirit magnet Akari, but he can be annoying at times (he's basically a slob). His more annoying habits and the couple of episodes that focus on him are the only thing holding this back from a '10'

Having made it this far, I found myself somewhat wrapped up in the characters and their stories. 9.5, really.
There is an episode '5.5' as well (Aria the Origination Special), so 14 in total.
Episode 7 is particularly important to the story, if you've been paying attention. It ties together the threads. Though President Aria is not one of my favorite characters, he has always been key to the story as a sort of "protective charm" for Akari, and in this episode we learn that he set in motion the chain of events that prepared a place for the weirdness magnet Akari when she came to Aqua. I suspect Aqua, somehow expecting her, charged him specifically with that task, as he seems to have some standing in the entourage around Cait Sith.

Unlike "Aria the Natural Special" this actually added value to the story and character backgrounds. And, well, it was just really good.

It starts with a dream Akari has about the future, when she would take over for Alicia, but really emphasizes Akari's anxiety about her future. From there, it touches on the story of Aria company immediately before the arrival of Akari, and Alicia's own anxieties about taking on an apprentice, as told by Alicia to Akari. The result is a stronger bond between the two than ever before (if that was possible).

If there is no Happy Place for all the furry friends I've had in my life, then there is no heaven I want to be a part of.

I'm a little disappointed it was only a 1 hour long movie. There was a lot of good content in the manga that was skipped.

Though only about 10 minutes long, each episode seems to contain enough content to either develop the characters or further the plot, or both. The characters are likeable. The action emphasizes mystical combat over flashy swords, making it different from the usual stuff of this type. The Bad Guys actually turned out to be exceptionally well done and their motives explained well, so much that you appreciate their point of view and what they ultimately do. Possibly one of the most touching scenes I've ever seen is in the epilogue between the antagonist and one of his followers.

Well, at least Shinobu and Inada have a shared interest.

Problems with her age aside, in the end it's a good story with good characters. But then, she IS a succubus, and her biology is different (and, it seems, he's not entirely human either), so when looked at from that aspect the story's internal logic holds up. Combine this with that Naoya didn't take advantage of the situation and instead realizes that what she needs is emotional support makes the story actually work.

The first part was stupid, but the second and third parts were decent additions to the overall story.

Very well done slice-of-life comedy centered around several high school girls and two of their teachers. One character in particular, “Osaka”, struggles with the same problems I did in school.

Complete date is a guess.

Quirky, edgy, and odd, yet I was immediately hooked by the first episode. Its mix of action (some quite violent) and droll banter is both amusing and interesting. There is not really any overall plot, but the small multi-episode stories are linked in a continuing progression.

I don't care what the tags say - this is more drama than comedy.

Since it ends halfway through the manga and they didn't do an original ending, it kinda leaves hanging several threads. I'd rather they did that than make up an ending for sure, but since there was never a second season...

Blue Drop is a Odd Beast

It is almost like watching two shows at once. That is because one of the two main characters leads a double life. Not in the sense of masked superhero who is "Ordinary Student by day and Champion of Justice by Night"®. Rather as an outsider hiding in plain site, searching in what she sees around her for answers while looking over her shoulder at a Fate rapidly catching up with her.

To add to the complexity the Seeker's story has two sides. On the one side is an important supporting antagonist obsessed with vengeance for a lost loved one. On the other side is a survivor of the same past tragedy from the other side, one who survived because of the Seeker, unaware of this past yet drawn to the Seeker for reasons she does not understand. Fundamental to the story, as well as the future beyond the scope of the story's end, is how both the Antagonist and the Survivor change and react to the Seeker as the story unfolds.

The show has a lot of rough spots and can be slow at first, but it starts to build and the second half takes on a new life. The two main characters and the most important supporting characters all become real as we see them contend with each other and themselves. The Seeker finds her answers in those she had been hiding amongst and discovers that a Red String binds her with the Survivor.

A lot of shows like this, which struggle to define themselves, usually have a climax that fails to deliver. In Blue Drop the final episode is by far the best and one of the best final episodes I have seen. The build up with the characters and events involved on all sides of the conflict feed into the final and allow it to deliver with considerable impact. In finding her answers the Seeker performs an act that is at once spectacular to see and worthy of the best heroic tragedies.

First few episodes are kind a so so, but it improves about mid way through as you start to get a sense of the characters' personalities. (probably a victim of the short format)

(as of episode 4) another "it is what it is" shows. It's amusing enough to keep me interested, though I'm worried about the inclusion of a 10 year old girl (Maria) into the 'harem' of a show that depends heavily on sexually oriented comedy.

(as of episode 10) they've kept the younger character's out of the more blatant stuff, which is good. Actually, beside the fanservice this show is actually fairly good, and even the fanservice and related jokes are amusing. All of the characters are interesting in their own way, and Kodaka, the male lead, is a likable dude who is purposely keeping his distance from all the girls -- he tries to act more as an older brother to a pack of troublesome younger siblings than anything else. Despite their protests and antics to the contrary, they've all become friends, with one possible exception.

I think the one problem with this show, however, is Yozora. All of the characters have their personal problems, but none of them are unlikable except for Yozora. As far as I can tell, she's just mean? Maybe not so much mean but rather maybe she doesn't know any other way to behave.

The series was skating on thin ice - this OVA simply broke the ice.

Strong story, though you have to accept that not everything about what is going on will be apparent, or even revealed.

All Right! A COMEDY!

Well, I don't think it is supposed to be a comedy. But the story and the characters don't hold together well enough otherwise. I actually do like Isanami, however. I think given her background and situation she's been characterized fairly well.

Basically advertisements for the manga, though they look more like PV...but it actually looks interesting.

Hmmm...I don't deny that the animation was great, the voice acting good, and that I empathize with the characters. But, at the same time, it feels wrong. Stewing in your "what ifs" - either do what you need to do or let it go, instead of drawing it out to a slow painful death. It was the "slow painful death" of their relationship that bugged me - neither wanting to let go nor willing to put the effort into doing something about it. Instead, they spend the rest of their lives thinking about someone who long ago ceased to exist.

It's silly, but it's fun to watch and there is not to much 'fanservice'. Part of what interests me is that Kusanagi has to 'know' something (real or show made up) about the authorities of the deities who's powers he faces, whether used by those deities or not.

Not nearly what the title implies. Lite, fluffy, feel good show with a happy ending.

Note, I don't particularly care for Sakuya.

I'm going to have to think about this. It had my attention. Maybe it's because regardless of what happened somebody was going to lose.

Ep 1 - it wasn't bad by any means, but...

It skipped chap "0" (probably for the best), but adapted chaps 1 and 2 fairly well. Which is to say, the studio managed to capture the quirks of the source well. In particular, it managed to make sure the source author's themes about discrimination and tolerance are present, including the underlying (and somewhat edgy) tones hinted.

Possibly my only real complaint is the voices for Himeno (the Centaur) and Manami (the half angel) didn't match what I've had in my head for them.

Also interestingly, Manami is listed as a 'supporting' character (as in the manga), but she seemed to get a lot of focus in the episode END sequence. Actually, for a while she also got a lot of focus in the manga, and I thought she was the most interesting character in the manga.

Things seemed to drag through ep 5, but ep 6 was far better. It helped that it did a very good job at adapting my favorite scene from the manga. Like with the manga, Manami Mitama remains my favorite character and I enjoy the parts of the story that feature her far more than most of the rest.

I wanted to like it more, as I liked some of the characters, but it just didn't seem to be able to bring out a good story. The last episode was particularly disappointing.

It wasn't bad exactly. In general I just can't usually get excited by a 2 minute story, and the 'genre' is of a type I usually don't much care for to begin with.

First half was so-so, with to much fan service. The second half gets better, but with ep 20 it's like a different story. Then in 22, Haruma effectively kills her. Pissed me off.

It flirted with daring to be different and present a very awkward subject in a meaningful way, but consistently fell down with repeated and sometimes excessive "escapes" to fan-service.

I would have fit right in with these kids.

As with Angel Beats!, it gets a point because it strikes a cord with me with its theme of having trouble accepting reality.

If this had been done as a single episode, instead of broken into so many short scenes, it actually would have been fairly good.

I thought they did a really good job adapting the first few chapters.
As with the manga, I like Yuzu, but dislike Mei.

Episode 9 - both liked and disliked. I disliked how things just sort of "resolved" with Matsuri. But I liked how Mei is finally starting to realize she is hurting Yuzu.

Episode 11 - again, as with the manga, Mei is annoying me to no end.

Episode 12 - For once I'm much further ahead in the source manga than I am the anime adaptatiob, and I know Mei will still make Yuzu's life miserable at times after this point, but on its own, I guess I can live with that ending for this season.

Romance and drama are not usually my thing, but the characters were SO engaging and the plot good.

Well, in the main show I liked Kyou the best of the girls, but this 'stand alone' story gave everybody a short shift, and didn't give Kyou much room in particular.

The first episode was just bad. I didn't have much hope for the rest...but by the end of ep 3 it had gotten a little more interesting. In fact, by ep 5 it has improved considerably, and ep 7 was very good. All in all, once it gave itself a chance it developed the plot (though the characters were a bit rough around the edges, especially with the sudden "love triangle" (or is it a love quadrangle?) and had a very good "end".

It had a lot of potential, and I liked the MC Suzu, but the problem is it left you in the middle of the story.

Episode 9 was good. But, I can't seem to accept the setup.

A good concept wasted by bad execution.

Decent overall plot (with individual episodes being excellent), GREAT action, mostly well developed characters, often just plain fun to watch.

Not really that much of a story, but it has a lot of good humor.

(だんちがい) It's cute and (mostly) harmless. But, there just doesn't seem to be much in the way of either story or character development.
On the other hand, some of the situations are stupid (particularly most of ep 11)

Another one of those shows were I'd be hard pressed to describe the story to somebody. There was a lot to like (for somebody like me who enjoys odd stuff), but there were some things that I thought it could have done better.

The concept and theme are different and interesting - books, written under unusual circumstances by extraordinary people, can contain knowledge and tap into powers that are beyond the abilities of most to withstand, never mind control. The show's main protagonist include Hugh Anthony Disward, a very capable veteran of The Great War, and Dalian, who appears to be a ordinary, though attractive, very young lady. The young lady is actually a custodian of the "Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian", literally containing within her a library housing 900,666 phantom books, and Hugh possesses the qualities needed to be her "Keykeeper". (Doing some simple research on Dantalian turns up some very intriguing information.) Most episodes occur in England.
Usually each episode features somebody getting in trouble while using a Phantom Book that they managed to find; occasionally the main characters help, often they can only cleanup after the foolish suffer their fate (the stories are often dark and not always happy). Two other custodian/keykeeper pairs appear in the series, each bringing very different takes on the main theme and outlooks on their own roles regarding the knowledge and powers they possess.
One nice feature is that Hugh ("Huey"), is a strong main male lead - intelligent, brave, able to handle himself in a fight and a crack shot with a large caliber revolver he always carries.
The series started out well, there were a few weak episodes in the middle, but it ended on a really good run. The last two episodes could easily have been stretched to four if some good details had been added - the show's main fault was lack of good character development. But the concept was really good and for the most part played really well throughout, particularly the logical conclusion of what form a Phantom Book could take, as shown in the last episode.

As with most of the regular episodes, this really could have been two episodes instead of one and as a result felt rushed. Still, I love the show's premise and the two main characters.

With the first episode I was a little unsure here, but the second episode was really good. Both softly humorous and interesting.

Ep 10 - wow. Yes, the part with the physics guy was interesting, on several levels (I am, after all, a physicist by training and have studied a lot of philosophy). But there were some other important things going on in this episode as well...

Demi-chan wa Kataritai Episode 11 - that did NOT go in the direction I was expecting it to go. Cool.

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this. Though not strictly a comedy, it is usually funny and at times it is hilarious. It is also, however, a very good take on one young man's view of life in a somewhat dysfunctional environment and his attempts to make the best of it. When all is said and done, the people he has touched seem the better for it, particularly his cousin Erio.

Absolutely essential to finish the story. Answers some questions, presents many more. But, finally, somebody, namely Yashiro, put a crack in Makoto's armor around his self assurance that he has the right view of reality and his confidence that he did the right thing denying Erio's story about what happened to her when she disappeared.

Very funny. Lively gags, lively characters.

There was potential there, but...

I had trouble accepting the setup - it's to artificial. Whoa...and that end was just TO cheesy.

I don't know how to rate this.

Intense.
The 'phone messages' scene in episode 7 stunned me. The 'phone call' scene in the last episode had me on the edge of my seat.

I have a few nitpicks, such as how an elephant running through the streets of 1895 London didn't panic every horse within sight. And through he is important to the story (as William's conscious), it failed completely to show any sort of real friendship between him and William. But It was a very nice touch that it showed the ugliness of life for the poor without overstating it - it was treated as part of the story.

Difficult to watch, not so much because of the violence but because of what is done to some of the characters by others. However, the characters are interesting and their actions fascinating to watch. It's also a little far fetched...then again, maybe not - much of the misery in the world is caused by just the sort of cruelty that pushed Lucy over the edge to begin with.

I'd love for Lucy to run into Mayu's mother and 'step-father' when she was in a bad mood. How can you tell if Lucy is in a bad mood? She's not smiling while she rips your arms off.

Up to ep 6 it was okay, occasionally amusing, but episode 6 was disappointing. The effect of having Megumi blindfolded and hand-tied, then Sagiri stripping her panties, was disturbingly close to rape. Then the forced drama with the overly manipulative editor and the appearance of Muramasa Senju was annoying.

The only characters that seem to have any real depth to them are Masamune Izumi and Elf Yamada, with Elf having by far the greatest characterization. The way she drove the events of ep 9, especially how she set up the scene where she proposed to Masamune, was actually delightful to watch.

Overall, despite some issues, it wasn't bad. If only that incident in ep 6 hadn't happened.

Ep 8 - I'm not exactly sure what to make of this episode. It's not that I was surprised (I was sort of expecting Gilgamesh to show, though I admit his age threw me off for a minute), but something seemed off. I just can't put my finger on it. I mean I "get it". But, I just feel it could have been done differently so it didn't give the impression that it was so closely dependent on what had gone before. (Oh, also, in the end, did she REALLY have to have accidentally grab his crotch, and then squeezed it a couple of times? - anime "logic", I suppose (eyeball roll))

After ep 8 I was worried that it might end in a way I would not find "satisfying" (as in, not doing justice to the value of the story to this point). But it worked out very satisfactory (and it is obvious the story is not yet over). And Illya put in a very good performance. Pound for pound, she is not the most powerful character, even in her own story. But she is one of the most unpredictable, and thus , more dangerous, characters I've ever seen.

Episode 4 - (sigh) for a while, I was actually thinking they would ease up on the ridiculous and distracting fanservice. Technically I have no problem with any sort of relationship between those girls, a bit of romance spices up many stories, and in any case I see some logic in the idea that Kuro would need intimate contact with Illya given her semi-incorporeal nature. But I really am not interested in watching sloppy tongue exchanges and I find the magical background easier to accept than the idea that 10 year olds would be that sexually "mature".

I really do like the overall story...but sometimes I really question why I am here.

The second half of the season really delivered. Several episodes were awesome.

The first episode was silly, but funny, Second episode was funny as well.

Fanservice for the sake of fanservice...

and in the end, justice prevailed!

(as of ep 9) well, it's just, there's something bugging me about the setup and how Shirou and Rin are acting. I mean, for one, they keep going to school everyday, as if it's the most natural thing in the world to wander into a trap they know about, and without their servant at that.

In particular, that last debacle wouldn't have happened had Archer been near Rin. Instead, she went out to "play" without him.

It bugs me.

Overall (both seasons of UBW), I didn't like it nearly as well as I liked Fate/Zero. To often the the combatants stopped in the middle of a fight to seemingly just chat/rant, and the number of times one could have finished another off yet seemingly simply got bored and wandered off drove me to distraction. (In the words of Tuco Benedicto Pacífico Juan María Ramírez, "When you have to shoot, shoot! Don't talk.") However, I bumped my score up for one reason. In the end, Saber/Arthur got her answer, a GOOD answer, AND she was able to finish what she had so reluctantly started 10 years before.

Disappointing. I mean, it's nice that Saber (apparently) got a chance to live out a happy life, but just 9 minutes? They should have done a proper length episode that mirrored the Epilogue of UBW.

Well, it pretty much assumed you were familiar with the background, for which I knocked it down a point.

Engrossing. The plot hook is lame and unlikely, but once you get past that there is a good story with good characters being told here.

Though several of the "masters" are unlikable chaps, Ryuunosuke and his servant 'Caster' make even this irreligious wanderer hope there is a special place in Hell for monsters like those two. In fact, I'm rooting for Waver and his servant Rider to send them straight there.

Overall, this show has really done well. There is a very good balance between action and drama.

Stunning.

I see a lot of people seem to be having trouble understanding what this is about - one reviewer said "If you're not completely and utterly confused at what the hell just happened during the first episode of FLCL, then you are more insane than the characters that are in it."

I guess all I have to say is "I'm not suffering from insanity; I'm enjoying every minute of it."

While it was interesting, and some of it was laugh out loud funny, in the end I found the story depressing for several reasons. If nothing else, I hope Mamimi finds what she is looking for.

(as of ep 4) right now this has my undivided attention as I watch each episode.

Unfortunately, episode 8 ruined the momentum for me. I'm just not a robotech/transformers fan. And, do we really need camera angles filled with their butts? There were some good points, but as a whole the episode felt to awkward and forced.

Ep 13 - well, Hell.

Not entirely sure the episode count is correct. Possibly the 9 includes one that was just an announcement of the blu-ray/dvd releases.

I'm not entirely sure. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. It wasn't so much that the end just left things hanging, as you didn't get an impression that they were really committed to each other. They didn't look like a couple at the end.

It was doing well until the prank by Erika's brother, invading the girls' privacy and causing Kouhei to get hit for something he didn't do...again. But I gave it an extra point because it actually clarified the relationship between Kouhei and Erika at the end.

At the time I stumbled across this, I didn't think I was into romance and drama, but the characters were SO engaging, the plot interesting, and some good comedy.
One of the few I've actually watched with dub instead of subtitles and liked it better than way.

Warm and fuzzy.

This is hard to rate. In the beginning, some episodes are good, some not so good. However, it gets overall better starting around ep 26, and parts of the story briefly, briefly, cross over into awesome. So, I'll have to settle on a 7.5 for it. But, here is the thing. Mitsuki appears to be the protagonist, but to me the story is as much about Meroko and Takuto as it is Mitsuki. Maybe even more so.

Intense.

The first episode was sort of just okay, but the second episode was amusing and nice. It played to the strengths of each of the characters while at the same time not overusing their weaknesses. Just the right mix.

Unusual idea and story line and it should get points for that. It just had a lot of rough edges.

Everybody dies in the first episode; then it gets worse.

Eh. Hidamari Sketch it's not. However, after the first two episodes it finds itself and it IS very funny.

Gabriel DropOut ep 1 - it's not that I dislike the setup. I don't dislike Gabriel and Vignette is pretty funny. It's that Raphiel grates on my nerves and I want to slap Satanichia for being so stupid.

The story starts to improve as it goes.

Ep 9 - unfortunately, it just never really improves much.

Ep 10 - possibly the best episode, despite that for much of it the pace is slow and not much happens. It's what happens in the last 5 minutes that make the entire episode work.

Ep 11 - as I was watching this episode, it suddenly came to me what might be the problem with this show. The primary and early secondary education systems in heaven and hell are total failures at preparing their students for the 'real world'. Satanichia and Tapris are not to blame for their complete inability to function in the human world, and Gabriel should not be blamed for her "faillen" status as she was unprepared to cope with the temptations of the modern 'real world'. The system has failed them.

It had potential. It really did. But somehow it just seemed to consistently miss the mark.

Very entertaining. Random talking points each episode, but they are usually funny, often biting, and occasionally irreverent.
However, the second half of the series wasn't very good.

Hugely disappointing.

Episode 01 - I actually liked that he turned her down, AND he had a good reason for doing so, AND he explained that to her.

Episode 8 - Uehara's comments at the end of this epeisode really impressed me.

I gave it a 7 instead of an 8 because in the last episode the story did a very poor job of presenting what happens between Hajime and Katze - unless you make a VERY good guess, you're need information from elsewhere to figure it out.

Gives good background on how what happens to lead up to the start of the story.

I was fine until the last story, specifically and particularly when "Naru" shot that bolt of energy from his hand.

As of episode 4 - hah. Show seems to be getting a lot of hate from the mecha crowd cause they're not getting what they want. Me? Since I'm not really a mecha fan I'm looking at what else is going on, and I see something more interesting anyway. so, while it's certainly not the best action/adventure war story, I'm Okay with it so far.

Episode 6 - they broadcasted their plan? Really?

I...was disappointed. It felt scattered/fragmented. Almost like watching a fireworks display with some disjointed dialog. Not sure how else to say it. Possibly the biggest "eye-roll" was over what that one guy said to Asagi in the bunker when Asagi wanted to pilot that white unit - "do you want to die", or some nonsense. They're all 30 seconds away from dying anyway - what difference does it make?

It certainly wasn't anything exciting or intriguing, but it had just enough character development to be interesting and was pleasant to watch - the kind that just distracts you from a bad day and smile a little.

This one surprised me. I thought it would be stupid, but as of episode 4 it's actually turning out fairly good.

At the end of episode 9 I was actually on the edge of my seat, holding my breath.

I give a +1 if for no other reason that it was damn fun to watch and I'm really, really jealous.

episodes 1 and 4 were disappointing, but 2, 3, 5 and 6 were good.

Fun to watch, but where as the main series at least made an attempt at a realistic depiction of a tank battle, this was basically fantasy.

It was Okay, but not really all that interesting.

Although it has some misses, I can't put my finger on why this show usually appeals. The problem is, it never really becomes anything that good.

The story is a bit difficult to follow, intentionally I believe. It's interesting, but don't expect the "end" to enlighten you - you need to make your own conclusions as to what was going on.

Episode 12 is when it 'clicks'. Still, somewhat disappointing overall.

Another one of those shows where all I can say is, I was in a better mood after watching each episode.

Another one I'm just not sure what to make of. I think what saved it for me was that their friends came through for Kouko and Banri.

It starts out slow with episodic plots and only a hint of a larger theme, with some plot holes, but it grows better as it goes and the overall theme takes over.

Apparently just an advertisement for a (really bad) ps2 game.

And so it goes...

Also, it touched a nerve.

Just not enough time allocated in any one episode for all the characters involved and things going on. It struggled through the first half because of this. However, it did get a little better in the second half. Still, it really was limited because of the time frame.

By my usual standards I should have dropped this show. But, it's just to damn funny. I laughed, sometimes till it hurt, most of the way through these 12 episodes. That alone is worth a lot.

(there was more story in this one rushed episode than in the entire "Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W" season.)

Uhm, huh? Okay, the fork was funny.

Nothing special about it, really.

With an interestingly odd assortment of characters and a slowly developing but intriguing story line, as well as pushing a few boundaries some might find uncomfortable, this has an unusual appeal.

Kind of an interesting ‘feel good’ show. Silly, but entertaining. Most of the characters grow really well, particularly the main character Ohana.

I really want to like this - I like the characters and they interact well. But, 20 minutes is FAR to little time to develop a "mystery" style story, so most of the episodes are terribly rushed. Episodes 7, 8 and 9, while still rushed, have been much better, however. I long ago got over that their teacher is a background character, or expecting much out of the individual "mysteries" (though I think they've gotten better in the second half). It's moments like when those two respond in unison with fake names in ep 11 that kept my interest.

In the end, for me, it's not that it was bad, and it's not that it was good, but I felt very inconsistent. Many of the parts were weak, especially in the first half, but I liked the two main characters and I felt some of what it tried to do was at least different. So, while a bit disappointed, I'm not unhappy I watched it.

(as of ep 3) the characters are interesting, the theme interesting, and there is a lot of potential. But the execution is lacking, often awkward and disjointed. And some of the situations (such as in ep 2), while entertaining, are rather absurd.
Episode 7, however, was very good.
And then episode 9 was...well, it didn't really work.
(ep 10)...I think it could have been better. I was disappointed, to be honest.

ハロー!!きんいろモザイク, A combination of a slightly better storytelling and the new teacher Akari Kuzehashi improved this. On the other hand, the conflict between Karen and her her father in ep 7 surprised and disappointed me, and the way it was resolved rubbed me the wrong way.
I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong. But...I guess my main problem with this is that, after 24 episodes it didn't really feel like the characters had developed much. Maybe I'm to picky sometimes?

I didn't think I would like this after the first couple of episodes, but it actually develops an interesting story that proved very difficult to out-guess.

Space Opera, done right.

I normally don't bother with 'recaps', but there was a lot going on in the first season and so before starting the second season I thought it would be good for the refresher. In that sense, it was good.

The first episode was really funny.
These are some of the best "shorts" I've seen.

A ‘feel good’ show about several high school girls and their lives. I never laughed out loud, but I found I was smiling at their situations and conversations though out every episode.
Taking in all of the additional seasons (365, Hoshi Mittsu, Honeycomb, SP, Sae Hiro Sotsugyou-hen), the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. (If only the first two seasons were in chronological order.)
