Asi Yu Xiao Liangdang

A little treasure piece that went unnoticed.

I discovered this mini donghua today on youtube by chance and I was instantly hooked.

The story is about a young couple in ancient China with daily comedic dramas, presented in a high quality 3D chibi-like form.

The mini stories presented is very interesting, but done so in a rather short sequence. This was probably done so due to budget issues, but nevertheless very enjoyable and captures the essence of each mini story.

The art style is typical of the current generation of donghuas: high quality and uniquely crafted. Physics may have been present but they're not easily noticeable in this particular ... series. Although each frame focuses on the main characters, a lot of effort is put into the background such as the houses, walls et cetera.

The animation isn't anything special but definitely to current standards. Smooth frames.

The characters presented are all designed to be cute and loveable. The developers put a lot of effort to make them move and make us laugh.
