It's because no one expects this anime to be great. Even DEEN did not expect much from this anime, judging from the low budget they're giving it. I mean you can see last year's thread on this anime's announcement and everyone shits on it: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1387119 So DEEN probably played it safe and do 10 episodes. Knowing that it exploded in popularity, they announced season 2 as soon as season 1 finished. |

I lost my source but I'm pretty sure this is true.) Hmm... well it's called an OVA for a reason. OVA means Original Video Animation and like its name implied, it's an original anime episode. Not all OVA are bad either. Although mostly they are fanservice episodes ("plot", ex. DxD with over the top fanservice OVA) or fanservice episodes (what the fans wanted to see, ex. Oregairu OVA with all the girls in wedding dresses or Nisekoi OVA with all the girls becoming Raku's wife in each different scenario). Based on the released visuals, it seems to be a mixture of "plot" (the bath scene) and some usual KonoSuba comedic scenes. Though of course, this kind of OVA will probably not gonna be received well by people. Ah well, more Megumin is love. |
