We're really subtracting the mecha and the cyberpunk setting, since Lycoris Recoil is set in near-future Japan but it's quite similar in terms of the tech-focused main problem, and definitely the blue and red-themed young girls paired up for the rest of the series, where one is cheerful and another one is rather apathetic (but may or may not care more than she shows). Both are original animes done by big studios as well.

Both are sci-fi set on post-cataclysmic planets (Noman's Land and Mars) with deserts and cities where various factions and bandits run wild. Each has a non-human protagonist (Vash, a plant and Rouge, a Nean) who teams up with humans in journalism/investigation professions (Naomi and Meryl).

Both are cyberpunk anime set within a Martian city, where androids are treated as second-class to humans. Each include stories surrounding androids that almost perfectly mimic humans being targeted and killed.

Both are futuristic dystopias(?). Both feature robot main characters. Both explore sentimentality of robots(Metallic Rouge is weaker).

The plot and the story can be confusing and not executed the best, but if you love robot fights and politic drama this might be a nice hidden gem.

It shares a few elements of nieR:Automata as I find and left an impact on me. A half political half futuristic filled anime based on what is it about society itself that has a lot of aspects of a typical anime but a lot more though provoking. With our own world set a undergo a robotic revolution, Ot aims to give a view of what we as human are and can be but what we should be. 'Thought provoking anime with an impact on the viewer' is the best description I sternly believe.

both anime mains transform into mecha-like battlesuits if you're into that strong female lead in both shows and are on the path of justice

partners fighting crime mcs, sort of. both being original anime (until Tiger and bunny received a manga adaptation) set in a far off futuristic time, the cast for both are shown controlling mecha bodysuits similar to iron man. both contain android-like people in their storylines at some point and the mech designs in both of these series have similarities, along with the action scenes. if you love one you'll find something to like in the other

Location differences aside, I could not help noticing that these original series rich in turmoil feature two similar yet strong female lead. Masane the Witchblade and Rouge as an elite android who can transform into powerful tokusatsu warriors donning stylish red armor while fighting for survival driven by a self-imposed sense of justice both at the center of fierce commotion and ever going conspiracies. They battle at cost of risking their lives and identities being revealed, oblivious to the powers that be.

Both have some similar ambietations. But the story of scryed is an fictional allegory about racism and Metallic Rouge is about slavary system. They both works well around the discussion about "how the people can surpass the preconception about each other".

Rouge and Rikka look very similar and are voiced by the same VA.

Also set in a future with androids. There are multiple references to Ergo Proxy in Metallic Rouge, but the stories are different enough to remain unique.
