they both deal with elementary age characters in a way that is not demeaning. The characters are childish and silly but not stupid. The main girls Mikan(GA) and Miiko(MD) are both very spunky, energetic, and not shy. The main guy characters are not as similar, Natsume(GA) is a lot darker and meaner than Tappei(MD) but both of the guy characters have a teasing(although it is a little more bullying for Natsume) relationship with the girl.
