Both anime, albeit very different, are full of subtle and thought provoking symbolism involving existentialism, faith and angels. These elements vary in intensity and character, depending on which show is being talked about (i.e. "Saint Seiya: Tenkai-hen" has more action scenes that don't place emphasis on the aforementioned things and, unlike "Tenshi no Tamago", its symbolism is more obvious, without leaving the interpretation of certain scenes up to the audience).
