Remove Haruhi and Mori, remove the extreme rich school setting and make them all "commoners" and you´ll get Kimi to Boku. Just imagine Ouran without the boys being hosts but instead, Childhood friends, and with a more slow pacing. You´ll get a cheerful mixed blood blonde, a serious intelligent megane, funny twins, and a fluffy boy that likes cute things living their daily lives in extreme fun.
Also, although both center in friendship, both have hints of a love triangle (a straight one) XP

If you were fond of Kyouya and the twins in Ouran, you might get happy from watching Kimi to Boku because there are similar characters in it. It has a different vibe, but they're both school anime about the friendship between teenage boys.

If you're like me and would've rather been a member of the host club than a client, you'll probably like Kimi to Boku. This is a much more understated show, so the shenanigans aren't as crazy or off-the-wall as Ouran, but it has the same heart. The boys' personalities bounce off each other well, the comedy is silly and light-hearted, and it also delivers when tugging at your heartstrings. Ultimately, a solid show about a bunch of boys and their wacky high school life.
