Vampires, Nazis and over the top action. both series are equally ludicrous. hellsing isn't as macho as jojo but it has ridiculous amounts of gore.
Both shows have vampires, and outsandings visuals. You can found comedy in both and they are extremely enjoyable, not a single second is boring.

Both have similar extremely over the top characters and action scenes.
The art style, setting and even the speeches feel like a shared universe.
