Looking for a great original fantasy story? SukaSuka and Tegami Bachi feature beautiful post-apocalyptic fantasy worlds with a little bit of technology. SukaSuka takes place on islands floating in the sky, while Tegami Bachi takes place in what seems to be the underground. The wastelands of these worlds are inhabited by dangerous giant monsters which can only be defeated by children (The characters from SukaSuka are slightly older and female only, while the characters in Tegami Bachi are boys). Also both anime are really sad; I really recommend you to watch them.
