Both anime focus very much on humor, and have a very straightforward premise.
The humor used in both anime is quite similar and focuses on very extreme characters/situations
They both have a fantasy setting
NGNL has better artwork
Baka and test should probably be watched only if you have seen a fair number of anime already, since its humor is in part a parody of overdone themes in popular anime
