As a first series to start,both anime is about an adventure to solves mystery.
Both anime deal with vampires
Both Anime had many sequel and many of the manga/novel adaptation doesn't get adapted yet(in monogatari off and monster season) other than many sequel,monogatari is a littlle bit confusing and can be watched with storyand mystery
