While watching Hoshiai no Sora, I couldn't stop thinking how many similarities the show has to Haikyuu.
Both shows consist of amazing ost's that get you pumped.
Interesting characters that make you want to know more about.
Two main characters both learning the sport as they go.
Background chants that you can recognize in both shows.
The only difference between the two shows was Hoshiai no Sora felt more focused on the drama aspect while Haikyuu was more focused on the sports genre.

Both are about a sports team that had a rich history of being dominate but has now fallen into disarray. Both Hiakyuu and Hoshiai no Sora have their story enhanced by the music that is used in both anime. If you love a sports anime where not only is the team working to get better but a bond is growing, Hoshiai no Sora is a anime for you.

both are sports animes about the revival of their respective sports clubs that were once good but had lost their star reputation. stars align has more character development and is more story heavy than haikyuu and includes some darker themes
