To me both anime kind of feel the same beyond what I already mentioned. The coaches are likeable characters that are present in the character's lives prior to becoming the coach. The characters are driven to succeed within a team environment.
Both anime's share the genres: sports, school, and drama. Some differences are that Haikyuu!! is also shounen and comedy.
