Both are shows that have mainly a male cast with similar personalities (charismatic ones, the cool ones, the cold ones, etc), the plot it's kind of similar since both are about teammates reaching their goals and surprassing their weaknesses. Both have good comedy mixed with a drama too

Both animes with a huge boy cast with charming personalities but also dramatic stories behind and different motivations. Both have a female figure who motivate the team/group and both animes have good comedy too
There is a HUGE chance that if you like Haikyuu you will also like Idolish7, they both have cute male characters with quirky personalities, but in fact both animes are amazing not only for of the relationships they make throughout the story but also because of the dramatic moments and character development that both shows have.
The cast has mainly male characters but they also have good female characters, who are not just for fanservice or to represent something, they are secondary characters who intervene when necessary and who, with their simple actions, manage to motivate the main cast on many occasions.
The main cast have different charming personalities but they have a lot of development in the road of the success.
Both are pretty motivational
Idolish7 and Haikyuu are animes that have a cast of charismatic and cute boys, but most important the series talk about how the members on the main team/group will have to get better to reach their respective goals, how hard it can be for them to get better even when they try their best. Both animes have a similar humor.

Both are animes that deal with the path that the characters have to follow to be the best in Japan, they have different motivations and goals but they all have to work hard to achieve that common goal.

Both animes are about teamwork, characters growing thanks to an activity and they learning from each other to get better, also evey character has a different development, motivations and that makes it different, i'm sure if you liked one you'll enjoy the other too.
Both are animes about the teamwork and surpass your barriers, there are a main group/team which the anime focuses more but there are also different groups who gonna have an importance in the plot, most of the time they gonna help the main group to get better, i think the fans of one story gonna love the other one too
Both animes have a long male character cast, all of them have a notable personality but they still are more than their personality, all of them have backgrounds that develop trought the seasons, also the female characters are good too, they're supporting but still you can like them a lot.

Animes about teamwork and character development through the seasons, the characters are mostly young men with quirky and funny personalities, the female characters are supportive but they are good too, and every character aim to the same goal which is gettin national recognition.
Both have characters with funny and likable characters, there is a female character who is a stimulations and support for the main group/team, there are also a competition. The goal for the main cast it's similar too since it's about being succesfull in a sport/music career. Other similarity it's that they develop the characters one by one throughout the seasons.
both are anime with a large cast of male characters that will team up to achieve national recognition in their respective activities (volleyball and pop music), both stories not only focus on the main team but also the secondary ones have a good development, you have variety to choose your favorite characters
