in both movies, the main characters come into a new world and try to save their parents. this new world has supernatural and fantasy world in which they both try to adapt to their new environments. worth while to check the other out ^__^
These are similar in the way that the main characters go to a differnet world and that they haveto complete a task in order to get back to there own.

They both are beautifully animated. Well developed characters. Both main characters go into a different world to try and save their parent(s). Both main characters go through growing up.
They have the same world and the same main characters hoping to save their parents by going into a magic world field with magical creatures

Both anime feature a main character who goes into a fantasy world in order to save their parents. In order for the characters to reach their goal and turn back to reality, they must complete a task in the fantasy world.
