Both main characters are pretty small and weak, filled with bright hope and hero feelings, and give off a similar aura. I think this is a good reason to watch the other if you liked the main character in one.
Both settings are mysterious and give off bad vibes. If you enjoyed that mysterious feeling, then you will probably like the other.
Both have a diverse character set that makes the plot more enjoyable.
There are multiple characters who are starting a new life/new school, but get thrown into a weird place instead! All of them have different character traits which sometimes collide. An angry one, a crazy one, a smart one, the cute one and of course the neutral one. But they must learn to work with each other in order to find out about the truth behind all that mystery going on. However Danganronpa has more of an uplifting artsy style, while Mayoiga tends to go to a darker theme.
Mayoiga and Danganronpa deals with a mystery around the place where they are situated in (place unknown to the world). And both anime revolves around the fact that the characters want something that no one else has. And there are lots of interesting characters in both Mayoiga and Danganronpa.
