Both shows are total dumpster fires in terms of plot - when watching them, you need to put you mind in neutral and just go with the flow.
But they are both fun to watch, and have a strong shonen romance element: A complete noob turns out to be super competent, and has tsundere girls in love with him, bu he doesn't have a clue.
It's pure escapist wish fulfillment.
