Both protagonists are young boys with the ability to fight Yokai/Akuma and do so in order to protect, not only the people most important to them, but all innocent people.
Both have to deal with injury, fear, peril, and harsh reality but manage to hold onto their hopeful personalities. This attitude inspires the people around them to keep going, as well.
The shows also share good artwork, thoroughly animated action scenes and engaging soundtracks.
If you love D Gray Man, I think you'll really enjoy Shounen Onmyouji!
