Both are currently airing Mahou Shojo animation by Toei.
While Sailor Moon Anime was hiatus for 17 years. Precure has slowly filled that gap till Crystal came.
Both have similar themes as well. While Precure has always change their themes in it's new entry. Sailor Moon has stuck to it's own throughout.
While some may argue that Sailor Moon is much more mature than Precure, especially how this Crystal s now following the more darker content of the manga series.
Precure can be pretty dark at times. And it seems by the look of things at Happiness Charge, we'll be getting there pretty shortly.
