Despite the two main characters are polar opposites, the two childhood friends, Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, and Oota, are nearly identical, both following and taking care of the main characters and their ideals. Although Zenkichi is somewhat more excitable and cynical than Oota, they both share being tall, blonde, and their undying loyalty, and protectiveness of the main characters.
And, the icing on the cake, both Zenkichi and Oota share the same English voice actor.
Plus both anime are in a school setting with lots of colourful side characters.
