Splatoon and Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure are two manga series loosely based off of popular first-party video game titles from Nintendo, featuring the world and internal logic of their respective games as context for (occasionally) differing narratives. The main characters and comedy in both manga are very similar to each other, yet don't exactly have a 1-to-1 counterpart in the actual games. Chapters follow a similar and somewhat rigid format of a intriguing fight and an epic final attack taking up a good amount of space.

Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show and Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure are two comedy manga loosely based on two popular Nintendo video game series, featuring a male and female lead exclusive to these manga. The main character is a boy who once lived outside the general society that the female lead associates with, and learns things about this new world experience with wacky adventures. Both manga share an extremely similar type of juvenile humor despite one of them primarily being a 4-panel comic and the other having a dedicated narrative on top of comedy.

Yo-Kai Watch and Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure are two kodomo manga with similar types of gag humor and featuring monster characters from popular Nintendo-associated video game series. The main character is an ordinary human boy who seems to have some connection to the fictional monsters that other humans do not, and ends up meeting and befriending all kinds of wacky and fun creatures. There are some seriously dangerous moments at times, but much of it is still fine for a kid to handle.

Pokémon DP Adventure and Fairy Idol Kanon are two kids manga featuring young human kids and fantasy creatures (mainly fairies in Kanon's case). Both series are mainly light-hearted stories about friendship, but they are not afraid to go into heartfelt and somewhat sad territory when it comes to things like backstories, and they do the job pretty well in my opinion. The characters aren't super developed, but you may find yourself rooting for them regardless.

Pokémon DP Adventure and Magic Knight Rayearth are two adventure comedies that mainly center on a trio of characters that includes one who's short, hopeful, and easily excitable (Hareta/Hikaru) supported by at least one other character who has a solid head on her shoulders and joins the main character (Mitsumi/Umi and Fuu). Their goal is to travel around the world and stop an evil organization from destroying it—a dark plot twist or two are abound.

Magical Pokémon Journey and Pokémon DP Adventure are two light-hearted manga based on the ever-popular Pokémon franchise. The main character is a cheerful Pokémon Trainer on an adventure with their Pokémon, and the series often features heartfelt character moments. While the former is aimed at girls with a completely original story and the latter is aimed at boys with a re-imagining of the story of the Diamond and Pearl games, they're both enjoyable comedies for people of all ages and (especially) Pokémon fans.

Pokémon DP Adventure and Yu-Gi-Oh are two action-adventure manga about a friendly and faithful young male protagonist who battles others with fantasy-themed creatures. The kind of humor and sense of battle/combat progression are very similar, especially when the fun cast of characters turn things around with surprise strategies. A very firm and heartfelt belief in the power of friendship and believing in one's companions are also major themes the two series have in common.
