Both are hilarious gag manga and each character in Wa! has a connection to other characters. The only difference is that Wa! Is a 4-koma. 

Both are cute and funny 4-komas where highschool students try to deal with their first love. 

They are both in a school setting and "slice of life", if you like "Wa!" chances are high that you will like "Azumanga Daioh" as well. They both have the same kind of humor and Azumanga is as easy to go through as Wa is. I feel that its one of those manga where you can take everything for face value; its not very heavy plot-wise and its simplistic nature is very relaxing and enjoyable. Hope this helps! 

Authored by the same mangaka, the two series feature similar execution and writing. Comedy is the main focus in these two publications, and the author deals with them in rather matching styles.
