Similarities:
1. Ordinary girl enrolls in a school for the rich and elite.
2. The male lead who is "coincidentally" also a curly-haired idiot (with hair that turns straight when wet - ring any bells?) falls in love with her.
3. But she prefers his friend (who is calm, often stays on the rooftop or any other quiet place and probably the opposite of the male lead).
4. There are also three bitches who bully her and pretended to be her friends.
They're almost identical although Hana Yori Dango is a lot better because the heroine, Tsukushi Makino, has more character and really strong-willed in comparison to Seo-Kyung. But if you're interested with the same Hanadan premise with a different plot flow, then you might wanna check out Cream as well.
