Jirocho, although he is not really a villain. The guy is really hardcore and pretty tough for an old guy.

From the actual villains, Oboro is pretty cool.

I've yet to see Takasugi have a serious fight...

Definitely Kamui. I really love Kamui. I really don't know why, at first I just liked him because the Yoshiwara arc was my favourite arc, but l started loving him as a character all of a sudden. This probably doesn't make any sense.

Takasugi is a close second. But I like him more for the arcs and the awesome, serious moments he brings with him. I also like Jirochou and Oboro. Jirochou because he's actually a great person despite being an antagonist. And I love Oboro because I find him fascinating. And probably because of that one part of the second Enchousen opening where Gin stands up to fight Oboro. The song's perfect, the moment's perfect, so I decided Oboro was perfect too, or something like that.

Takasugi >_> Even though he gets so little screentime.
Simply because of his history with Gin-chan and their protecting vs. destroying Shouyo's legacy.

Takasugi,
Followed by Jirochou (although he isn't a villain).

Takasugi and Kamui make a great pair. Housen was pretty good too.

Kamui, closely followed by Takasugi

My favourite is Kamui, but he's not that villainous.

Takasugi is one of my least favorite characters, he's so overrated.

Jirochou by far to me, from that poll. Maybe he felt a little erratic in his decisions at some point, but his attachment to the Kabuki district was something that helped to make his arc resonate, it made him look close and approachable as a character, and it made everything he was involved on more emotionally intense. And the last scene of that arc was a really beautiful instance of redemption that fit a villainous character who was never much of a villain.

I don't like Kamui that much and Takasugi so far has been more of an extra who appears at the end of the arcs to increase the hype. Housen was fine but not memorable, Jiraia only truly resonated on me at the last few moments of the arc, and Oboro... well, Oboro exists I guess.

Definitely Oboro. Since he has the same Seiyuu as Hatake Kakashi of Naruto. Even the looks are similar. And yes, he has this cold glance in him, like a true villain. Kamui is just a strong pchyco, Takasugi still didn't do much.

Kamui may be psychotic, but he's still an awesome character.

They are all really terrible except for Kamui.

The eye batch guy got to be the most bullshit villain in Shounen Jump, even Gintama acknowledges that.

It's like you've never even watched the series and have just seen videos on YouTube.... Otherwise you'd know Kamui is the worst villain in the poll, and Takasugi is one of the best antagonists in Shounen.

Actually I change my answer to this. Kintama was the only serious arc I found decent with smart writing. Maybe because it's half comedic half serious.

Best villains: Housen and Utsuro.

Best anti-hero: Isaburo Sasaki.

Takasugi and Enshou are awful villains. While Kamui, Jiraia and Oboro are average.

Favourite would be Jirai. He has an actually tragic past and is intimidating initially. And that ending when he dies in Tsukuyos arms was perfect. My least favourite is Hosen. He literally kidnapped children and turned them into sex slaves, as well as murdering hundreds of women and their babies. Then the show expects us to feel sorry for him because he couldn't go out in the sun? Bastard deserved a much worse death. Contrast that with Jirai who had his entire family murdered, then was forced to work as an assassin for the murders to protect his sister, who ends up killing herself. It makes sense that we would feel sympathy for him, especially considering what he did was nothing close to child sex slaves and baby murder.
