Known Elvish History: In the beginning, the first five of the pure Elves evolved from nature in the southern lands under the guidance of the Creator. These Elves were immature and primitive; they were weak and sad beings. They existed and knew of each other’s existence but did nothing to interact. Thus brought about their different cultures and customs. The first among them were the Dark Elves, these were brutish, undisciplined, warmongering race of violence and blood. Hunting, killing, and raiding each other to survive. Then there were the High Elves, they were a solitary and lonely race. Living as hermit like nomads only and meeting up with each other only to procreate. Then there were the Sea Elves, they too were more of a nomadic race. They traveled the seas near the shoreline in ‘schools’ only seeking food and thinking like fish themselves in order to survive. Then there the Wood Elves, they lived in a hive like fashion in the ‘Great Tree’. Each Elf was nothing more than a single cell in the brain of the grave mind. Finally… there were the Crystal Elves. These Elves were special; they were by far the most evolved of all the races. They had literature, arts, mathematics, sciences, and above all: they could do Magic unlike the other races. They were capable of doing so through reactions with the Crystals from their secret grottos. These Elves built great cities of these crystals and glass that shown ethereal light and beauty, they were the greatest and most perfect of races of all the others. Alas these early simpler times could not last. These times gave way to what was later called the First War. From the Northern unknown lands came an unsightly demonic race, these beasts none of the Elf people ever encountered before. They came to be known as none other than The Orc. Monsters whose primary diet consisted of meat, of which… they found Elvish to be of fine cuisine. Alone and separated, the Elves had no chance against these monsters. Not even the mighty powers of The Crystal Elves could match the terror of the north. However the Crystal Elves had a plan that would shake the core of all the races and would bind them forever in ways that could not even be imagined at the time. It was called: The Imbuing. The Crystal Elves using their Magic linked all the races by GIVING all the races the ability to use Magic. The spell if drawn out would resemble a web with the Crystal Elves at the center with all the other races surrounding them and all those races linked to each other in turn. Thus creating the ultimate power that drove the beasts back into the north and while they were at it. The Elves also erected a natural fortification to divide the land, they created The Barrier Mountains. With this spell now completed and peace returned to the land, many of the Elves experienced changes. The Dark Elves violent nature was tempered and they began a more civilized way of settling disputes and began a trading system, the High Elves began to communicate more and began building great cities and arts, the Sea Elves began leaving the ocean and exchange ways of life with the rest of the land-dwelling Elves, the Wood Elves began to think more independently and more detached from the ‘Great Tree’ but they’ve never completely separated. However the Crystal Elves… the crystal elves began what was called ‘the fading’. Dramatically and subtlety they began to disappear from the world and their greatest works began to fade to dust. Even in to modern age no one knows exactly what happened to the Crystal Elves, all which is left of them as artifacts are their Crystals. Through were the Elves able to access their magic, these crystals colorless and clear naturally react and permanently change color depending on the Elf using it. White was for the Crystal Elves, red for Dark Elves, yellow for High Elves, blue for Sea Elves, and green for Wood Elves. Thought the Crystal Elves were long gone their legacy would last for generations of prosperity for the remaining Elven peoples. But again, this peace wouldn’t last forever. The Orc wouldn’t cower in the north forever, and they came again in what was considered the Second War. They came back stronger, smarter, and by far more united than before. They all came and marched across the mountains under a single banner: The OrcRise. With this new threat coming, the elves responded quickly. They mobilized, formed, ranks, and marched north and began a series of battles that lasted many a year. No matter what they could do, they could not push the Orcs back home. In fact it seemed very likely that the Orcs may indeed be victories and finish the meal they started all those centuries ago. But behold many of great ships came across the astern sea bearing many strange people that resembled Elves in many ways. Save they had round ears, round eyes, more muscular frames, and could not use magic. They called themselves… Humans. Yes, Humans had entered their domain and assessed the warlike situation swiftly and turned their weapons towards the northern beasts. The Humans did not just fight with their blades and valor, they had secret weapon that turned the tide of the war. The Humans had what was called Gunpowder, using Gunpowder they an assortment of ‘rifles’, ‘handguns’, ‘bombs’, and ‘cannons’. Thus with the Human’s arrival the war ended in less than a month as the Orcs again fled back towards home and not a peep was heard from the OrcRise for a long time. Peace returned again as the Humans began to immerse with Elf society. The Humans and Elves began to get more ‘acquainted’ with each other as the years went by. This brought about a new age for both kinds, a new species was bor. Half Elf and half Human, they were called The Elfkin. Now we enter the modern era, where ‘pure’ Elf blood has begun to fade away. Being more Elf than Human is considered of higher value and upper-class-like. With more than 90% of the population being made up of the beings called ‘Elfkin’, purer blood is getting harder to find. But most Elfkin greatly resemble their ancestors, meaning there are many blood variants of Elfkin. There are the Dark Elfkin, the High Elfkin, the Sea Elfkin, the Wood Elfkin, and newest among the new breeds: the mixed Elfkin. With the other kinds of Elfkin somewhat resembling their ancestors and having many of their abilities, the mixed Elfkin did not. One could say that mixed Elfkin primary ancestors were not Elves at all, but Humans. Therefore they are considered lower-class and weak. This may not be necessarily true though, for new branch of magic and crystal color was discovered by evolution of this race. The first of Nullmancy was casted by a mixed Elfkin, Nullmancy being nonelemental and colorless pure energy. It has no reaction to other magicks, therefore considered out of most magic circles and unnecessary. The other discovery made by the new evolution was the new crystal color. Where all the other species being colorful luster filled beautiful gems, mixed Elfkin reaction turned the crystal to a matte dark lightless gem. But the gem never lost any of its other properties; it still could be used to create magic. But it just wasn’t as shiny as the others. With this discover it was decreed that all Elfkin upon the age of thirteen would receive an ‘Elfknife’ that would reveal one’s blood type, plus it would reveal one’s personality and magic. The natural powers of the crystal would morph the appearance of the knife into different colors, sizes, and shapes depending on who used it. Supposedly put it was a form of identification and pride, but more so a label to many who looked down upon the mixed peoples. The more 'Pure' or Elf like you were, the higher class you were. The most dominant of all the Elfkin though were the High Elfkin, followed by Dark, Wood, and Sea being around the same ranking, and with Mixed being at the very bottom. But all the races may be necessary in the near future. There are whisperings of new mobilizations in the north, more patrols are being put on the borders, and more attacks are occurring at sea. The time of the Crystal Elves, The Elven people, and The Humans is over. Let’s begin the coming of the Elfkin powers!

Orc Hierachy: Much about Orc life and family is unknown, we don't know how many of them there are, how big of cities they have, and we don't know what god or gods they have. But what we do know sis that they like to eat our kind and a few ranks of their ranks in the hierachy. So far only a handful are known: Common Orc, Orc Berserker, and Orc 'Mother'. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Common Orc: These beasts were seen the most during the wars, they on average stood at least 3 feet taller than the average Elf or Human, took at least 2 people to take one one. For even if injured it just made them madder rather than weaker, similar to that of the 'primal survival' of most Dark Elves. They also seemed to have basic tactical knowledge. We don't know the extent of their intelligience, we don't know if they think like animals or exist in a hive like mind like the Wood Elves once had. Their known equipment includes crude melee weaponry and armor made with haste and mass demand, and recent sightings have shown them wielding scavenged firearms. Only time and more experience will tell what else they ar capable of... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bersker Orc: No often found without 1 or 2 Orc handlers (variants of Common Orcs), these behemoths make Common Orcs seem like small fry. Being at least triple in size, strength, and overall weight. It could take at least half a dozen men to take one of these down, and that's when you were lucky! They wielded clubs and other large blunt wayfaring weapons on the field and they could fight hand-to-hand (or rather claw-to-hand) Fortunately we saw less than a hundred of these during the wars, so the possibility of seeing more of them is unlikely... supposedly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Orc 'Mother': These beings are possibly the scariest of the lot so far, for we know the least about them. Our spy network during the wars relayed some information, but what was learned terrified us to the core. These are the only known females in the species and they reproduce asexual, meaning with out a male they can produce offspring. What was really terrifying though was that the size of the 'nests' these beings could lay were not half a dozen or so, but rather they could lay hundreds in a single laying! We don't know these beings laying cycle, production rate, how fast Orcs grow, whether or not they could use magic, how many of them there are, or if they can talk due to their resemblance to us. So we don't know hich is scarier, what we do know or what we don't... This posting may have additional addings as we go along in the story... we don't want to many spoilers. Now do we? :)

THE GRIMOIRE: This is a guide to the use of magic in the world. There are different rule, types, and styles of magic for those who want to use it. And if there are any disputes of any kind this 'grimoire' will serve as an aboslute law in defining the rules. Simply put its a dictionary, encyclopedia, and manual all in one! So let's get started... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Element wheel: We are al familiar with some of the basics of element wheel right? And how it flows generally? Water>Fire and whatnot. Well guess what? That doesn't apply here, because if fire gets hot enough water can't do squat to it. So deal with it and use your imagination to win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spell Types: I have named 3 and only 3 types of spells and their uses in 'The Elfkin', they are called: Corpeal Offense, Reflexive Manipulation, and Defensive Barrier. Corpeal Offense- Using fire as an example, this would be the average fire based attack like a Fireball or Flamethrower attack. Easy to use, easy to understand Reflexive Manipulation- Using fire as an example again, this would be using fire on YOURSELF to power your self up. Like a Fist of Fire or setting your sword ablaze as a 'Blaze Blade'. Make sense? Defensive Barrier- Using fire as an example AGAIN,this would the average 'shield' defense. Like setting up a ring of fire to protec yourself or something like that. Purely defensive magic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Light vs. Dark: Okay to end this now before it arises, technically there is no real big difference between Photomancy and Umbramancy. The big difference lies in the Elfkins wielding it and their uses of it. It all depends upon whetehr or not they are manipulating the PRESENSE of light or the ABSENCE of light. They both have similar uses and abilties, such as cloaking or invisibility. There are a myriad of uses for it, but I am not going to list them all here. That would take all the fun out of it, so use your imagination! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nullmancy: Nullmancy is 'classified' as a magic branch, but doesn't use any 'real' magic as we know it. The best way to describe it would be that magic is like a magnet with positive and negative ends. Everything from Pyromancy to Umbramancy is considered 'positive' and therefore 'real' magic. So when fire and water clash there is a reaction, like to positive ends of a magnet coming together. but Nullmancy is considered 'negative'. And when it clashes with the 'positives' they cancel each other out, resulting in there being no magic. It is the ultimate defensive magic! However if two 'negatives' clash, with nullmancy vs. nullmancy, a reaction similar to positive vs. positive ensues. Resulting in a vioplent clash, therefore it is considered a magic. But not a 'real' magic... does this make sense? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Necromancy: This will not, shall not, and won't be an available spell type. This is not Umbramancy in the slightest! NO NEGOTIATIONS! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Power levels: when 'building' your character you assigned numbers to your magic skills, correct? This scale represents your 'power levels', mana affects raw power and total capacity of mana pool and mana regen only. Individual skills affect power, complexity, and casting speed for individual types only. Using 'fire' as an example: Skill + Mana/10 = Magic Power Level 0: no power 100: small flames and sparks 200: corpeal magic (ie fireballs) 500: set your weapon ablaze or shooting fire arrows 1000:bring a building down 5000: bring a village down 15,000: bring a city down 30,000: bring an army down 100,000: apocalyptic proportions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

World Map: Okay, I'm gonna be frank with all you: I can't draw so instead I'm going to describe it and have someone else draw it, okay? So here I go: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the most part the shape of the world resembles Korea. To the South is Elf Land, to the North is Orc Land, the DMZ is the Barrier Mountains, and anythong North of the Orcs is virtually unknown. Clockwork city is located approximately in the center of Elf Land and it has 4 primary routes leading from it going all different cardinal directions. To the west you will mostly see grasslands and open sky and the occasional river, but if you go further west you'll find a diverse amount of large forsests and wooded areas. Around these areas outside the woods you'll find small villages like Lonely Village and whatnot, but if you were to enter the woods you'll find some entire cities built into enormous trees lining the canopy of the forests. Some of these cities and forests I have not named yet, so bear with me please. But if you were to go to the other side of these woods you'll come to the western bluffs overlookin the western sea. To the South you''ll find a rocky dense region of sandstone and limestone lining a labyrinth of canyons, but if you were to pass through such a place alive. You will arrive in the nastiest swamp regions you'll ever see, here you will find Muck City and other odd assortments of towns. Be careful though, the swamps are more treacherous than the perilous canyons. To the East you''l come across a small desert with large dunes and bigger dangers. These dunes eventually lead to the sandy port cities of the east and from there you can sail to Coral City where you will find the only true Sea Elfkin city half submerged into the ocean. But be warned strange beasts dwell in th deep. To the North you'll come across tundra like salt flats as you pass on towards the mountains. Not much is around here save a few Border Patrol Forts and The Arena... oh The Arena? Yes it was built for entertainment purposes only and its a good way for Patrollers to stay on edge during there down time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's all I really ahve for now, I may edit this later with more information. But for now I think this will do...

Culture & Religion: Here I’m listing the many aspects of Elfkin religion and whatnot, this compilement of information may be updated as more ideas come to the table. (Hey it isn’t easy to write a religion in a fortnight~nano?) Genesis: (This is the story of the beginning) “The world we know has not always been, a blade or clothing cannot exist unless someone made it exist… or so is the theory behind the Creator. The Creator we have always assumed has been there in a void of loneliness and nothingness, so he began his Creations. He made planets, moons, stars, and even lifeitself upon our world in order to light up the world of darkness with beauty and elegance; but alas he had no one to share it with equally so he still felt alone. So he created a bride and named her Chaos, and Love was Created. He and Chaos loved each other deeply and Created together their first and only five children, and Family was Created. They had four girls and the youngest being a son. Thus the daughters were named by Chaos: Jasmine, Isabel, Sophia, and Amelia. The son… the son never received a name. The birthing was difficult and Chaos suffered and passed away during it, and Death was Created. But the boy never truly died, though his body was unborn. His spirit thrived and wander aimlessly, feeling guilt for what he had cost his family. His sisters traveled the universe seeking him, wanting forgive him and love him as brother. The Creator however did not know what to do, so he left this universe in the care of his children and sought his life of solitude once more. And thus how our world was born” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jasmine: The lady entity of Summer and the East. She is considered a patron to the highest beauty and arts, she is often prayed to when hope or inspiration is needed. She is often described as being the greatest of the sisters in beauty and leadership, and the ‘Mom’ of the family. Isabel: The lady entity of Fall and the West. She is considered a patron of the harvest and good fortune, she is often prayed to before or after meals and when giving thanks. She is often considered the most sensitive and intelligient one of the family, with her quirky quiet nature. Sophia: The lady entity of Winter and the North. She is considered a patron of war and violence, she is often prayed to before and after battle. She is often described as the ‘Hard on the outside, soft on the inside’ sort of girl who is often immature when it comes to relations. Amelia: The lady entity of Spring and the South. She is considered a patron of marriage and family, she is often prayed to during times of rejoice and celebration. She is often described as the most honest and juvenile of the sisters, and likes to make others as ‘honest’ as she is. The Son: Not much is known, he is an entity of no body. We have nothing beyond that… ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dark Elfkin Culture: According to the histories, they evolved from a primitive warmongering tribe near the Barrier Mountains. But post 1st War they somewhat ‘calmed down’ and are less violent prone, however disputes still arose between the greatest of tribes. To settle these problems they built The Arena of sand and blood, in the area that later became referred to as Bloodsand City… The Darkelfkin Capital High Elfkin Culture: According to the histories, they evolved from prairie nomadic hermits near the center most part of the land. Post 1st War they became more social and began living in the ruins of what was Rosestone City, the only known Crystal Elf city in all the land. But as time went along and the 2nd War came and with the arrival of the Humans all remains of the old city faded as it became known as Clockwork City. Wood Elfkin Culture: According to the histories, they evolved from a hivemind similar to that of most insects. Post first war they became more individualistic. Other than that not much is known about their changes other than they built a fortress in the canopies they called home: Ironwood City Sea Elfkin Culture: According to the histories, they evolved and came to shore post 1st War and became more ‘Elven’ and less ‘Fish’. Supposedly their royal family decided to create a city so that they may have both access to the land and sea via it and they still reside in it today: Coral City ‘Human’ Culture: Basically (according to the histories) they came far across the eastern sea fleeing Creator knows what just to settle and help bring about our Culture as it is today: The Elfkin High Elfkin Court: Post 2nd War, a government was believed necessary to provide leadership to all the races. To become a Court member you had to prove yourself academically or heroically. However as of late its becaome corrupt and only people with money or connections can become a member. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armageddon: Supposedly the end of the world will come once all these ‘signs’ are witnessed: 1. The appearance of a child of the Crystal 2. The arrival of the four Destroyers; Wrath, Plague, Tempest, and Fear 3. The arrival of the Son made flesh 4. The death of the four Sisters 5. The sky falling and the sea rising 6. The choice of a path 7. The rebirth of our World

Akridotora: Not until after the 2nd War and the arrival of the Humans did The Elves dare travel towars the deep south into the lands of The Black Swamp. There they found a sentient race that called itself 'The Akridotora' the Elves and the Humans called them 'The Spiderants'. Just as their name suggests they resemble humanoid hyrbids with features of both the hive like hardworking tunneler's nature of ants and the webweaving stealthy predators of a spider. Not a single shot or blade swung between the races. A peace accordance was swift and trading began even quicker as the town of Muck City was established. The Elves and Humans gave food and weapons, and recieved fine silk and Crystals mined from the Akridotoran Tunnels. And that peace still thrives today... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Classes: There are several classes in the 'Hive' Worker: Lower class infantry, Swamp land guides, and miners. Very social Warrior: Middle class fighters, quiet/reseverved but nice enough. Knight: Upper class; tougher, meaner, and 'nobler' than the others. Akridotoran Queen: A single Queen mothers and rules them all... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Golems Out of all the races thus far found in the Elfkin lands, these would be amongst the strangest. Golems are not natural sentient beings. They are artificial lives forged by alchemy and lost magicks that can grant life (not unlike Necromancy in a way), using Crystals as a ‘heart’ so to speak. These beings were made over a millennia ago by the Crystal Elves and they were given various tasks and jobs under their direction. In a way they served as the first of the Familiars. Each Crystal Elfkin had at least one Golem under their command and all Golems were made from a variety of seemingly endless materials. They were made from metal, stone, wood, sand, glass, ice, magma, and countless others! But today Golems ‘run wild’ so to speak, they have long since then grew a consciousness and independence. They have no culture, no cities, or even social circles. They are solitary lonesome creatures usually found in remote places sleeping and wandering. If the are you are traveling is off the beaten path. Then you are most likely to encounter a Golem of some sort, understand? But they are not necessarily dangerous, they are only doing what they want to do. So the Elfkin and the Akidotorans (Spiderants) tend to let them do their own thing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here’s a list of known types of Golems: Metal/Alloy Based: Iron Steel Bronze Titanium Gold Silicon Silver Earth (pure and mixed) Based: Granite Diamond Quartz Sulfur Mud Sand Glass Other/Special Based: Magma Wind Water Wood

RELIGION: Coral City-Religion Capital ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Coral City main church,Saint-Claire,has been founded by Claire D'Arhe,an high accuracy blooded Elfkin. Her origins are unknown, but she is also Called the Grand Priest and she is belived to be a Mixed Elfkin or a pure Elf of some sort The current main Monk and the leader whit out crown of the church is Eliphas Laporte, who is so Mixed Elfkin that he could be almost Human ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most of the personal at the church is having one of three jobs; 1.Priest- highest rank, usually female 2.Monk- middle rank, usually male 3.Prayer- lower rank, both The Priests are in good relationship whit the lady entities, especially with Jasmine the eldest sisterand the protector of the East, making a contact with her each year, a secret meeting in a room under the church, where only Claire and lady Jasmine are allowed. Priests can summon divine protection anytime. Monks are the fighters and also serve as a spy organization, collecting information and sending them higher,to lady Claire which judges them and send all the true information up to the Court Member and ruler of the city. The Prayers keep up the protective energy shield that is surrounding the city like "a huge soap bubble".Their power limit is unknown, and you can hear the beautiful religious songs that they use on summoning the shield. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Much else is not known about what's going on in the church, also a source of 'power' for the the Court Member, because of it's exagerated security and high competence of the clerics and staff, except the fact that most are under 30% elf blooded, and,to symbolyze the connection whit Earth and Humanity, the origin, they wear green.

DEATH: Ol' Jack Gray --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Death goes by many names: Grayman, GrayRider, GrayCloak, GrayBringer, GrayWyrd, GrayFate, etc. But the name he prefers is Jack, if your gonna call him anything. Just call him Jack. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Death is everywhere and it happens all the time to plants, animal, and people. But when a large amounto deaths occur in a single place. Jack can take physical form due to the concentration of deaths. Jack's job is to collect the souls of the dead an put them through the 'doorway' to the 'otherside'. He isn't good or evil, he just exists. Just another being made 'flesh' by the Creator. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack has a personality, simply put he isn't a nice guy. He hates people. All living people that is. He gets along with the dead just fine and most nomal 'nonintelligent' living things. But he can't stand 'meatsuits' and their 'hopes' and 'dreams'. As he sees it once your dead all those things mean nothing and you die a lonely death just like every other person. Everyone dies the same way in his eyes whether it be a noble or a peasant the all die alone and become food for scavengers or bugs. So he tends to be an arse most of the time to people. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack knows how to fight, he can't count how many times 'heroes' and 'legends' have come and fought him thinking that if they 'beat death' they'll become immortal. But Jack doesn't kill them in his fights, he cripples them for life so they die a pathetic simple death as all deaths are in Jack's eyes. The only other time Jack fights is when a Necromancer or Fleshcraft is beaing used. He hates living folks, but he utterly loathes and despises such perverse tainted magic users. He come sees and anihaliates those who practice the art. Jack's weapon are a pair of small hand sickles that resemble the ones farmers use. Except they are absolutely lethal and terrifying to behold. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack wears (as his many nicknames propose) gray colored clothing. Usually tunics with hoods are common or a simple traveling cloak. His face is usually wrapped up with bandages and his voice sounds crackley like he's been losing his voice. though it has been known that 'more of him' appears as more deaths are in a certain area. So he becomes 'more whole' as more people die.

Over the years their number lessened due to conflicts and war which they were very prone to participating in with out a second thought (back in the days, now they have second thoughts and maybe even thirds). 17 years ago the head of the tribe, Roalin, was betrayed by his brother, Jaroan, who wanted his position. The brother made a deal with a tribe who had a sort of bitter rivalry with Draconis and was just as great. If he helped take them down then they would allow him to be a head in his own 'new' tribe. Jaroan killed the main Draconis family while the lesser clan members were seemingly taken out almost instantaneously. It was a massacre that changed the tides of power in Bloodsand city, it was a great shock and tragedy. The last son of the main house barely escaped with his life and lived in the slums of the city were the rules of dealing with problems in the arena do not apply most of the time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who's next? Come on we need volunteers! |
