Afterwards, when she was still little, she met Tahiti, who introduced her to the concept of Gods and Demi-gods. Not long after that she met England, who tried to own and control her. During this time, Hawaii was introduced to Western ways and influenes from Europe. After one year she managed to drive the British influences out of her island home. The great dances such as the "hula" were abolished when Protestant missionaries came to her island from Europe. Trading and whaling on her island caused her to become quite popular with many European nations. Not soon after, America, who controlled Hawaii's economy, over threw her government in a coup and she was forced to become an American territory. Moving from her home to America's where she promptly began working for him as a maid of sorts. She was popular with Japan, China, the Phillipines and Portugal due to her pinapple and sugar industries, which she traded with them. These two things became her main source of income. Then came the unfortunate day where Japan, looking to expand control in the Pacific Ocean, attacked Hawaii. America was quick to come to her rescue but the physical and emotional scar still remains. She is still popular with the other countries as her home is considered very relaxing for those looking to get away from the stress of the world. Russia helped Armenia strive through the genocide, and is her main military supporter. She also shares rich trades and culture with China. Armenia and France have also had friendly relations for some time now, as well as with Georgia. She has gained great respect for England as well as trust, especially after many of her people took refuge in his land during the 18th century and World War II. Armenia gained her independance on September 21st, 1991. She was previously owned by Russia under Soviet rule, until her people begain to protest agaisnt it in 1988. Armenia actually has good relations with almost every country in the World, besides Turkey and Azerbaijan. Armenia is a member of the Council of Europe, retaining many friendly relations within the European Union. After Armenia's independence, she continued to rely on Russia for military support, especially against Turkey. Some of her closest friends include: Georgia, who acts like a pestering older brother to her, Greece, whom she's fought with for many many years, and Romania, who she has a long and lasting friendship with. Armenia is a country landlocked in the South Caucasus between the Back and Caspian seas. She is bordered north and east by Georgia and Azerbaijan and on the south and west by Iran and Turkey. In 1920 Russia invaded and turned him into a Soviet Country, making him very dependant on Moscow by cutting off his necessary supplies. On February 28, 1988, tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan finally escalated into fighting, due to the fact that in the town of Sumgait there was an anit-Armenian pogrom. The European parliament condemmed him due to the brutalities against Armenia, causing him to begin disliking his neighboring Soviet country even more. When Armenia began declaring her independence a national awakening occured. In 1990 Russia attempted to halt civil war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which had been on the brink of the war for some time now. After many were killed in Russia's attempt to halt his revolt, up to 2,000 Azerbaijanis marched through the republics capital. In 1991 Azerbaijan finally realized his dream of breaking free from the Soviet Union. Once Armenia gained independence a territorial dispute broke out between her and Azerbaijan, resulting in Russia taking sides with Armenia and Turkey allying with Azerbaijan.
