| Hey, I just got Windows 7, and wanted to install Windows Live Messenger, but somehow I can't. It loads up to 98% and then it tells me that installation failed. This is the error- window:  Please, help. xD |

| Rats. I actually forgot to ask you something essential - what version of 7 are you running? Next, I have a couple questions: have you tried installing anything else and have run into problems? Have you tried redownloading the live package? If you did what was in that post, first I'd go back to prompt and set autotuninglevel to "normal" (netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal). Then try CleanUp utility and remove any Live entries. Reading from your initial post, it looks like it has something to do with not having a plugin for windows media player. Probably has something to do with the share music feature. I suggest maybe updating Windows Media Player (maybe just running Windows Update from the get go) and then installing Live Messenger from a standalone/offline source. |
