This could be the best animated anime in existence

The animation in the film is incredibly fluid and detailed with some amazingly detailed art. The animation quality might be even better than Akira and Redline, the only drawback might be the heavy use of CG in some scenes. Too bad the plot does not quite reach the quality of animation.

I would also prefer it if it used a little less 3D but I can't complain with the end result.
Otomo really knew how to properly utilize 3D as evident by his earlier Cannon Fodder short which used CG to make the entire thing look like a single continuous shot at a time when most animation in Japan was still done in cels.
