3 episode rule good enough?

I read on a completely different forum that this starts of slow. I want to know whether the three episode rule is enough for this show (I'd prefer it to be even lower at this point but still)

I'm up to episode 8 and hit hasn't gotten any more interesting yet. Unfortunately, I'm committed to finishing it for the 2018 Anime Watching Challenge so I gotta muddle on through. Otherwise, I'd have dropped it after #3.
