| The anime covers all of the first novel, although the English version kind of ordered the chapters since the original Japanese version was told non-linearly. I don't think the portion of Episode 3, Land of Sadness, was from the novel. The original chapter told the whole story all at once, rather than being disconnected and intertwined stories. I also can't find the prologue and intermissions from Episode 11, nor the parts about the bodyguard and the wiseman. | I agree with the above post, but I would also like to add the following: episode 4 prologue and epilogue : "In the Middle of a Crimson Sea" - volume 4 prologue episode 11's "true blue sky" was taken from parts of "A Land Not Permitting Discrimination" - volume 3 ch. 5 episode 12 prologue : "In the Middle of the Forest" - volume 1 prologue Volume 2's prologue was not shown in episode 1, but episode 13 (this story book ends the anime) Also for episode 11, Her Journey was not volume 5 ch. 1-2, but volume 6 ch. 1-2. |
