I'm at episode 17, and I'm already sick of this Renton kid..I hope he matures later in the series because it makes the series hard to watch.

I dropped this at ep 6 because of this reason. Although it probably didn't help the last anime I watched was NGE, back then.

He does mature and have character development. He is the most likable character in the main crew and the third most likable character overall imo.

not his personality thats annoying...its his selfish, spoiled, bratty, cowardly attitude and his unhealthy obsession with "her" (Eureka). And as i'm typing this, I'm watching him go on a rampage after saving Holland, eat and cry in self pity afterwards, and then sneak into Eureka's room and screaming at her.

only reason i'm still watching it, the story is intriguing, but looks like I'll have to endure to the end.

Well, he's gonna have change a lot then cuz...Right now he's on on my top 3 list of most unlikable MC's from all the anime I've watched.

Continue it. You're making a grave mistake. I endured his behavior for 30 episodes, and I have to say that it's worth it. Great character development imo.

The pace changes up a bit between seasons, and Renton eventually ends up in enough despair that he's not shitting rainbows all the time like in the beginning :)
