How to run Clannad Visual Novel on Windows 7?

Hi there, I have Clannad but the first version (it doesnt have voice patch) and it is giving me problems running with Windows 7. I know how to run it on XP by changing the unicode of the Windows but I dont know how on 7. Can anyone help me how to run it?

A Windows 7 compatible version was released at the end of last month :

You can also run it by changing the country setting for non-unicode languages on Windows 7.

Tried it but the game still freezes. I guess I shall have to get the new Clannad version.

Tell us if it worked 'cause my friend is looking for a win7 version for a long time now...



btw that game is awesome i played 12 hours through, Kyou's story is the best (had to do it over and over till i actually made it somehow)

It didnt work. Ill guess I need to install XP for run it.

What worked for me was:

Go to your Configuration screen -> Clock, Language and area(?) -> Country and language -> Management(? Last tab) -> Change Systemcountrysetting -> Japanese (japan)

(?)'s cos I have a Dutch version...

where can I find this configuration thingy?? sorry coz i dont have enough knowledge about computers...

I just click on the shortcut.

AFAIK there was also a small program that enabled Japanese support on non Japanese windows installations. I have it on my PC but I can't remember what it was.
