| It's based on the third game (Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo, ), who is also the first Fire Emblem for the Super Nes. And 1996 is not old. XD |

XD that game was remake of 1st fire emblem game made 4 the NES in the series there 1ce again remaking it 4 the ds as fire emblem: shadow dragon, which looks like it will be released in english |

There are minor differences (since in the game a variety of things are up to the player, like who fights who or if people die) but the anime follows the first few chapters relatively well. The battles don't go as in depth as the game (obviously) and mostly focus on the boss fights if I remember correctly. |
