It's funny how I wish to one of the Angel Team wayback then, and I mastered our astronomy class, thinking I can be a Galaxy Angel. :D

Rewatching season one. Its as funny and as awesome as i remember. Massive nostalgia boost!

It's better this way, folks. Given the horrid crap GA Rune already was, imagine what the ressurected franchise would look like... I don't think a word of vocabulary exists to qualify the resulting defilement in all fairness.

The classic generation games are original and excellent, Kanan's manga is nice in its own way, the first anime seasons are a bonanza of absurdist fun. There's already enough existing matter to come back to and enjoy throughly over again. GA is and will stay an all-time favorite of mine.

It's sad that this franchise is already dead.

Yuna-chii | Dec 4, 2011 8:20 PM
Yes, I recall you saying that before MadDog. Apricot gets on my nerves the most.

MadDogV2 | Dec 4, 2011 11:27 AM
The only good thing about Rune is the opening song, thats it.

Yuna-chii | Dec 4, 2011 11:05 AM
I've never seen Rune, and I don't plan on it either. It really just looks like a parody of the first GA series, and the characters are flat and annoying.

sorcery | Dec 4, 2011 10:44 AM
I agree with you wholeheartedly, even though I'm only fan of the first and third season. Otherwise series quality range from "deceiving" to "obnoxiously dispensable". MadDog already knows how much I think low of Galaxy Angel Rune.

Yuna-chii | Dec 4, 2011 9:24 AM
Well, I really shouldn't have a say in the anime, because I've only seen three episodes of the dubbed version. I fell in love with it right away though. Especially the flawed characters, imo, I really made no connection with the games nor did I have any standards for them while watching.

Yuna-chii | Dec 4, 2011 9:20 AM
If the anime wasn't funny; I would've dropped it.

sorcery | Dec 3, 2011 5:54 PM
Anyway, it's possible to recreate the general feeling of a date-sim, but wanting it 100% faithful is a delusional hope. As I said, date-sim and visual novels are into self-immersion, if you have the bad end in them, it's your fault. Animes can't transcribe that interactivity charm into film.

It's that or you have productions like:
- Galaxy Angel Moon lite lovers, Ranpha route
- Galaxy Angel Moon lite lovers, Mint route
and so on...

sorcery | Dec 3, 2011 5:42 PM
Yeah, that cuts it, thanks. Not that I'm bad with grammar, but the way you put your sentence fell confusing. I'm a partisan of clear, if not subtle, syntax.

It's not necessarily a bad thing if you smoke fun stuff, you know. I'd even say, GA anime goes well with trips, if it's not a trip by itself. And no I don't encourage people to do drugs ~~

Yuna-chii | Dec 3, 2011 4:49 PM
I meant the anime wouldn't have been a joy to watch if it had no comedy in it. The games are another story. The anime and games really have nothing in common besides the character designs. Does that answer your question? I'm sorry I didn't know you were bad in American Grammar...>.>

Peace out, sister. Share it with the rude moron

Nah seriously. You're from the USA; a fluent English speaker then. So why your previous post makes no sense ? Tell me exactly what you wanted to imply because I'm sincerely clueless about it.

Yuna-chii | Dec 3, 2011 3:16 PM
Excuse me? I don't smoke anything, that is so rude of you!

sorcery | Dec 3, 2011 12:30 PM
@Yuna-chii

I don't know what you smoke, but you may pass me the joint any day.

I read your sentence about 10 times, it still doesn't make sense to me.

@MadDogV2

I saw your profile, and I can we say our taste are definitely different. However, we share the same view on some points. I'd be more than pleased to have an occasion to reduce the gap between us, since I consider you as a solid Galaxy Angel fan.

MadDogV2 | Dec 3, 2011 10:20 AM
Yeah, you got it. I'm just a little sad and frustrated that a lot of people won't get to see the other side of GA.

I'll post a link to the translation hacks in the forum for those who are interested.

Yuna-chii | Dec 3, 2011 9:56 AM
The anime was meant to be comedic, when has a game ever reflected it's televised adaptation successfully? It wouldn't have been fun to watch.

sorcery | Dec 3, 2011 9:20 AM
@MadDogV2

Yeah man, I see, I got your point. Date-sim stay a video game genre at destination of a certain niche, alas. It's a fact for a majority. Otherwise, references of DS like Tokimeki Memorial would be translated by professionals.

Apart from that, I don't want to confront anime to video games. It's an easy trap to condemn one because one think the other is better or unfairly unrecognized. Maybe I'd give the date-sim a run someday, if it's translated as you said. For the mere pleasure to end up with Ranpha Framboise, who's the sexiest character to me.

-----
@Yuna-chii

In fact, you can't fathom how it is, sister

Ranpha disappointments in love with her concealing her sadness with twisted mischief, Forte's way to avoid self questioning by provoking conflicts, Milfeuille attempts to capture attention she mysteriously seem to miss so much by cooking for everyone; Vanilla H desperately in search of universal comprehension with mysticism; Mint in perpetual disguise by scare of revealing her true feelings and Volcott's quest of his subordinate's care makes Galaxy Angel on par with Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien in terms of raw emotion... LMAO

It isn't supposed to be deep emotionally. it's a COMEDY. And it's audacious because the anime could have become one of these unpretentious [to not say feeble] space opera with a share of romance thrown in for good measure.

MadDogV2 | Dec 2, 2011 5:57 PM
Oh no, I in no way dislike the anime, I have all of it on DVD. It is awesome on its own merits, and it did introduce me to the franchise after all. I never would have played the games had I never made that fateful impulse buy of the first season.

In fact if I'm not mistaken the game and the anime were developed at the same time with zero communication between the staff of either. The anime was never meant to be an adaptation to begin with. In that case it makes sense that they're almost complete opposites

My only real gripe here is that because the anime is more well known, fans of the anime far outnumber fans of the games and furthermore the majority of the former are very likely to have only seen the anime. With things as they are, I'm sure you can understand why despite how great the anime is I'm still left with mixed feelings about it.

All in all while I love both GA's, I love the games that much more.
