Definitely agree ^^

kandiiyuutaamu | Nov 17, 2011 9:11 AM
@windeen-windy: Well it's better to do something rather than just let that kind of opportunity runaway from us even though it wasn't really a problem to begin with, isn't it?

windeen-windy | Nov 17, 2011 7:38 AM
@kandiiyuutaamu: No problem. I don't know how it will effect other countries and the internet- but from what I know it may very well effect other countries and their internet users in some way if this bill passes and is made a law.
Though that's a big if, since it's not really easy to pass a bill like this, IMO anyway.... there will be opposition even with a lot of big name companies backing it.

Arigatou Gozaimasu Windy!

windeen-windy | Nov 16, 2011 8:31 PM
@kandiiyuutaamu: Since your in or from London (I’m going by your profile) you might not have heard of it.
The US senate (If I remember what I read right) is the entity who was/is trying to do this. There's been talk about a "kill switch" which would put the US government in control of the free speech in the future, and anything they did not like or agree with would be under their control, at their mercy.
This is probably connected to what I heard about the "kill switch" though it's been a while since I heard about that idea.
In my post below this one I posted a link to Wikipedia’s article on the subject it may better explain what the bill is about.

windeen-windy | Nov 16, 2011 8:25 PM
Further information in this link --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protect_IP_Act <-- Though I don't really know what normal people can do, there are a lot of big names for it and not so many big names against it.
I'm a professional artist in my real life under my real name, and I police my own copyright and take care of problems of infringement on my own with the backing of the copyright office (as I list all of my artwork with them) having registered my art so that I would maintain those rights.
That being said this bill is not needed, people should have freedom and not have their free speech hindered-it‘s up to each company to take care of themselves, in my opinion.
I take care of my own issues when/if I have any.
I don't want other's policing my own copyrights let alone anyone else’s and this will reach to me, as well as other artists.
Though I admit it's disheartening to see who is for and who is against the bill.

kandiiyuutaamu | Nov 16, 2011 2:44 PM
@LeiraSedohr: I'm confused, what do you mean by this really?

LeiraSedohr | Nov 16, 2011 10:40 AM
Okay, so I know how you guys like watching anime. I love watching it too. But, congress is going to be doing something outrageous that will not let us do that. It is called the IP Act. And basically, this is what it is about

"The IP Act (S.968 - PROTECT IP Act of 2011) establishes a system for taking down websites that the Justice Department determines to be "dedicated to infringing activities." The DoJ or the copyright owner would be able to commence a legal action against the alleged infringer and the DoJ would be allowed to demand that search engines, social networking sites and domain name services block access to the targeted site. In some cases, action could be taken to block sites without first allowing the alleged infringer to defend themselves in court. The PROTECT IP Act would allow copyright owners – movie studios and other content providers – simply to accuse a website of infringement, which could lead to that site being shut down by court order and entire links to the site being wiped clean from the Internet. The bill is so poorly written that it would allow any copyright owner to shut down a legitimate retail website, such as Amazon or Best Buy, by alleging that one product being sold on the site could “enable or facilitate” an infringement. It could even allow any content owner to block access to the Patent Office website if it receives and posts a patent application for a product that is believed to use content without permission. The PROTECT IP Act will hurt American innovation. This bill will give one side the power to put the other side out of business and this is dangerous beyond words."

In short, Congress wants to censor the internet. And that is against the first amendment. If you want to stop this, please, PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, sign this petition.

And spread the word. This needs to stop. If you value anime/your freedom, sign this

oh okay let's see and wait if it's going to be vice versa then, okay?

windeen-windy | Apr 9, 2011 11:34 PM
^^; I'll probably try to redo them (Maybe not all- but some of the LE's I think there were about 5 different LE's- luckily I left the requests up, so I should be able to pick maybe 2 or 3 to do at some time (Maybe in a few months(around summer)- kinda depressed about it ATM).
But I will probably try and get something done with some of them... unless something else happens ^^;
I'm still unable to deliver them all profile to profile by myself though- so it'll depend on if, or when the mass message is re-established. It still says "Club messaging has been disabled for now. This will likely return in the future." <-- That likely leads me to wonder if they'll ever do it- without that I can't even do a thread on here for members to pick up their cards- no way to let them know that they need to pay attention to look for their cards here.... so it all depends on if the mass messages come back (Around July 4th it'll be a year since we've been unable to mass message in clubs-I've pretty much given up).

@windeen-windy: wow i really feel sorry for you there, since you tried to make the members for us so much that everything ended up falling apart unexpectedly that nonbody knew what was going on. i hope you'll re-make the member cards and recover yourself from thyroid surgery to, wishing you the best of luck!
