<strong>Ichiru's Story</strong>

Ichiru and Zero were very close as children,but later Ichiru claims to have hated Zero after overhearing that his parents preferred Zero over himself. Ichiru was trained by Toga Yagari to be a vampire hunter, like Zero, but he was a sickly child and showed incapability of being a vampire hunter. When Hio Shizuka murdered the Kiryuu family she found Ichiru had the same kind of pain she had. She decided not to kill him, and kept Ichiru as a servant/bodyguard. Ichiru's ill health was cured by drinking Hio Shizuka's blood, but Hio does not turn Ichiru into a vampire and he stays human. After Shizuka dies, he attends Cross Academy as a Day Class student to avenge Shizuka. Later on in the anime, he dies in Zero's arms, giving up his blood to Zero after he was injured by Rido Kuran. <!--spoiler--></span></div>
